Resident Evil 2 Remake Takes The Series Crown

According to figures highlighted in coverage of Capcom’s latest financial report, the 2019 Resident Evil 2 remake has reached 19.75 million units sold. That puts it ahead of Resident Evil 5, which now stands at 19.01 million sales.
This makes it a significant milestone for Resident Evil 2, as it ended Resident Evil 5’s 15-year-long streak as the best-selling title in the franchise,

The individual game record is not the only major development. Resident Evil has now reached 213 million total franchise sales, allowing it to surpass Final Fantasy, which currently sits at 212 million.
That makes Resident Evil the third best-selling Japanese video game franchise, just trailing behind Mario and Pokémon.
