SnowRunner is Finally Coming To Next-Gen Consoles
Saber and Focus Home Interactive's SnowRunner is finally coming to the next-gen consoles on 31st of May 2022
SnowRunner is an off-road simulation video game developed by Saber Interactive, which is a direct sequel to the famous MudRunner. The game originally came out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows through the Epic Game Store on the 28th of April 2020. A year later, on the 18th of May 2021, the game came out for Nintendo Switch and Steam. However, it never came out for the next-gen consoles until this month’s update on Focus Forums. In their monthly update, the Saber and Focus teams have announced that “on May 31st, 2022, SnowRunner will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S!”
Gamers around the globe have long wanted to play SnowRunner with better quality on their next-gen Xbox and Playstation consoles, and finally, they will be able to do that. Not only that, but for those who already own the game, the next-gen “upgrade will be free.” The game will also feature crossplay with all the other platforms on launch, including Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows. Furthermore, the Saber and Focus teams added a note for modders saying, “make sure to update your mods to Switch and next-gen versions with our new tool! Otherwise, your mods won’t be available right away on these platforms!”
Fans in the comments section of the forum were appreciative of the monthly update, and some of them were looking forward to the next-gen upgrade. It remains to be seen how the SnowRunner upgrade will perform on the next-gen consoles. We hope that game will provide the promised 60FPS in 4K so that players can enjoy the wilderness at best.
SnowRunner Season 7 could also be released with the next-gen upgrade of the game, but that has not officially been confirmed. However, it seems likely as the monthly update is seemingly suggesting it by saying that “the release of Season 7” is “what’s next,” but they don’t have a precise date. Of course, that info is with a grain of salt since it’s speculation.
