Sony’s Recent Acquired Studio Firesprite Developing UE5 AAA Horror Title

A recent job listing suggests that an AAA narrative driven horror-adventure game is being developed.

Like Microsoft, Sony is also acquiring intriguing game studios under its belt. The colossal company is toiling to strengthen its pillars and expand it into fresh territories. Sony is developing its root in the genre of live service games, but other genres are evidently also being inspected. Firesprite Studios was acquired by Playstation last September. Having become part of the PlayStation collective, gamers have high expectations of this studio reborn.

There have been various rumors about what Firesprite has to serve the gaming industry, but we’ve not caught anything official from them yet. However, recent rumors point out they are beginning to make themselves known, as a new job listing suggests.

As noticed by a Resetera user, the listing on the UK-based studio’s website cites that the developers are currently brewing an “AAA narrative-driven horror-adventure game.

“We are looking for a narrative director to join our development team for a AAA narrative-driven horror-adventure game in Unreal 5,” it states. It will be among the first big-budget AAA horror game announced recently. The acquisition of Sony ought to boost the potential of this project to the moon.

Furthermore, the listing reads, “The narrative director is responsible for the project storytelling, helping establish & consider the game’s universe and lore, with responsibility for the quality implementation of narrative content for project milestones and ultimately the game’s release.”

The horror game appears to be story-oriented, as the listing indicates. The unnamed project is also being developed in Unreal Engine 5, so it ought to be good. This title could be a wholly new IP or amidst Sony’s existing IPs like Siren. Everything else about this peculiar title is surrounded by mist. However, the game appears to be in a very primitive state, and we may not hear anything for a couple of years.

Moreover, Firesprite Studios is mingling with a few projects at a time. It’s been confirmed that the studio is co-developing Horizon Call of the Mountain in conjunction with Guerrilla. However, leaks have also firmly implied that Firesprite is in command of a Twisted Metal revival.

Firesprite studio may have received a big level-up after Sony’s acquisition, which may reflect in this supposed horror title they are brewing. What are your thoughts about it? While the game brews to perfection, why not read about a hilarious bug that turned Guild Wars 2 players into elongated cats?
