Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a wholly improved iteration in the iconic Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise for the PlayStation consoles, packing all the bells and whistles that long-time fans wanted to see in the sequel. However, there’s one facet of the action-adventure that has been bothering aspiring players since long, and that’s a missing selfie camera type inside the game’s otherwise incredibly detailed Photo Mode.

“You were able to get some pretty neat shots with it in the first two games, kinda disappointed they took it out for this one. It’s such a weird feature to remove,” writes the Reddit post’s OP, with so many others joining the discourse and expressing their disapproval on the matter as well. The selfie mode made for some impressive photos across New York City with Spider-Man, given how flexibly amusing it was.

For those not in the know, take a look at the following video and catch the selfie camera type in action within Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ Photo Mode. It lets you make a varying range of poses, alter facial expressions, and do just about everything else that comes shipped with other photo-shooting types. No wonder fans miss it—I sure know I do, gliding through the sequel without it.
Replying to a person’s critique who says that the game shipped without multiple features, TheArtistFKAMinty said, “I get the impression that they were running out of time before launch and had to focus on making sure the game was in a shippable state. I figure a lot of the missing stuff will likely be added in updates over time,” and this could very well be the case here.
We already know that New Game+ is coming to the game by the end of 2023, so it is likely that Insomniac will push out some other quality-of-life updates alongside that major feature. On the bright side, at least Spider-Man 2 wasn’t broken on launch, and players were actually able to have a smooth gameplay experience for the most part, save for a few hiccups, hilarious ones.0
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launched globally for the PlayStation 5 on October 20, 2023, and the game is currently running for 7 different distinctions at The Game Awards this year. eXputer reviewed it as well, giving it a 4/5 rating and calling it yet another incredible PlayStation exclusive worthy of picking up. If you’re a new player, here are the 14 best abilities in the action-adventure to prioritize unlocking.
