Story Highlights
- Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been under fire after releasing in early access.
- The game launched to a broken story mode that was already completed before players could start it.
- Developer Rocksteady has since resolved the issue, thereby making the title finally playable.
Rocksteady Studios’ latest venture in the name of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is off to a not-so-great start. The game unlocked earlier today for Deluxe Edition owners, who get to play it 3 days before its global launch date, but turns out, the story mode was glitched on launch, making the devs pull the servers and get the title down to maintenance. Now, however, the issues have been taken care of.

It was certainly a spectacle to watch and unfold as Suicide Squad’s servers got taken down an hour into the title’s early access release. Of course, red flags in the name of the Denuvo anti-cheat getting added to the game, no review codes sent to gaming outlets, along with the third-person shooter’s primary live service model have been a cause of concern for fans all over, but here’s hoping that the end-product turns out better than expectations.
On the flip side, Suicide Squad will get free content throughout the year, as announced by the developer as it unveiled the game’s 2024 roadmap plan. The Joker will arrive at the forefront of the squad in a free update one month into the title’s release, thereby kicking off the wave of Suicide Squad’s first seasonal content drop, which includes new playable environments, additional story chapters, and more.
Oh, and a deep dive by the developers on Suicide Squad’s official Discord server revealed that each new season of the title will feature a distinctive Elseworld; quite honestly, that’s fairly enticing all on its own. The concept of Elseworld was given rise by Brainiac, who, as per the official description by Rocksteady, “experimented” with the DNA of different DC characters, and created alternate realities.
