Tekken 8 has been doing incredibly well post its global release a bunch of days ago. The game’s error-free for the most part, but, of course, being a title of such grand stature, hiccups here and there are certainly expected, but a fix is usually followed sooner or later. As such, with the dev citing “high server usage” as the reason for Tekken 8’s Online Replay feature that went haywire recently, the issue has since been resolved.

For those not in the know, Tekken 8 has pretty much changed the game (no pun intended) with its Online Replay feature. It’s truly a next-gen addition to the title that doesn’t just let you watch your fights online with other players but lets you interrupt the battles mid-match, and recognize the exact moments you made mistakes. Pretty wild, I’ll tell you.
And on top of it all, Online Replay makes it possible to receive Punishment Training right in the middle of it all, letting the player take control of their character during the replay to address their mistake. Seriously, Tekken has never been this good, and extremely welcoming to beginners who are new to the franchise. Going back to Tekken 7 or any of the previous titles, in fact, is going to be really hard going forward.
Now, as for the issue involved, player reports have been prevalent across the r/Tekken subreddit over the last couple of days, saying that the problem with Online Replays persists, and the loading bar when the section is entered just doesn’t conclude. Either that or the process to access your replays ends up displaying an error message.

On a side note, Tekken frontman Katsuhiro Harada has acknowledged Tifa from the Final Fantasy franchise in recent times, saying that even though she’s “attractive,” guest characters are something that Bandai Namco has yet to decide upon. For what it’s worth, Tekken 7, the predecessor, did pull in Noctis from Final Fantasy 15 in the name of DLC.
Tekken 8 was released on January 26, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. eXputer rated it a perfect 5/5 in its review, with review expert Muhammad Roaim Chohan calling the game a “powerhouse in the Fighting Game world.” If you’re a new player, here are the best beginner-friendly characters in Tekken 8 that you should consider picking up.
