During a panel discussion at Pax East 2023, the voice actor behind Tyr’s character in God Of War Ragnarok dropped a vague hint about the possible return of the next God Of War game which could be a spin-off or a full fledge sequel. Ben Prendergast‘s statement led to quite a commotion among the audience leading to plenty of comeback speculations.
As reported by Ethan Floyd of Shark Games, who attended the panel discussion in person, Prendergast slipped up a bit during discussing his role as Tyr in the game. The voice actor said,
And I’ll say this, it isn’t the last you’ve seen of Tyr.”
Pax East occurred as a fan meet event for the gaming community between March 23 to 26, 2023 in Boston. Considering God Of War Ragnarok’s massive success, the event gave an opportunity to fans learn more about the making of the game by arranging a God Of War retrospective panel including a number of creators and of major attention, Tyr’s voice actor, Ben Prendergast.
The statement left the fans whispering about the possible comeback of the series. To further cement the news for the hopeful audience, the host however did try to make the panel spill some more beans. The host asked the panel to share their thoughts on how they see the future of the God Of War franchise following the audience’s eager response to Ben’s prior statement.
Prendergast however, being a little cautious this time said that he “knows a little, but doesn’t know much.” There might be some planning occurring at the Santa Monica Studios and Ben might have heard some of it but he is not sure of the plot and various other elements yet.
Moreover, nothing can be said concretely as this might be a DLC or a spin-off or an actual sequel too. Game developments are time taking processes so we might not anticipate anything for some time now, not even an announcement since the latest God Of War Ragnarok was just recent. As far as a spin-off is concerned, we are always hopeful for a soon announcement.
More on Ragnarok, the developers have previously admitted that allies spoiling puzzles was overlooked during the development. The issue was only identified after the game’s release, but there appear to be no upcoming patches for the removal of the issue though.
Moreover, a 3-hour-long demo of 2022’s GOTY runner-up was also added to PS Plus Premium which proved to be another treat for the fans. The demo got live on the platform on February 17th, 2023.
