The latest Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty patch is live, marking the beginning of the previously announced “Nioh 2” collaboration. According to the patch notes, a new sub-battlefield called “Twilight’s Calling” was added to the game, pitting players against Mezuki, the opening boss of Nioh 2. Once the main battlefield “Behold the Glaive of Righteousness” has been completed, the new side quest will be added to Other in the Travel menu.
As part of the collaboration, a new piece of headwear, modeled after Nioh 2’s Scampuss yokai, has also been added to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Players will obtain it as a reward for clearing the new side missions after which it will be a random drop from enemies. Additionally, new titles and records have been added, the threshold of Genuine Qi capable of being stored has been raised, and players can now possess an increased number of upgrade materials & more.
Aside from the new additions, various adjustments have also been made to the game. The amount of “Armor Break” accumulation for Feasting Ursine, Whistling Vortex, and Fanning Peacock has been decreased. Moreover, the probability of some enemies appearing in the Thousand-Mile Journey has been adjusted. Mezuki has also been added to the list of foes appearing in Boss Annihilation, Horde Eradication, and Onslaught of Warlords.

Moving on, several bugs have been addressed with update v1.220 of Wo Long. Issues such as improper consumption of Spirit upon performing a Spirit Attack under certain conditions, increased Armor Break accumulation while “Zhurong’s Celestial Fire” was active under the set bonus, and the player being inflicted with Spirit Disruption even after successful nullification when using a hammer or poleaxe were ironed out.
The Steam and Microsoft Store versions of the game have received specific fixes as well. A new function has been added to Wo Long allowing the title to pre-compile shaders and provide a minimal-lag gameplay experience. Moreover, the time required to render large amounts of effects has been reduced along with the resolution of an issue preventing the game from being launched if the installation path included double-byte characters.
Wo Long launched on March 3, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and last-gen consoles. In our review, we gave it a rating of 4/5 citing its engaging combat system, setting, and build variety.
