As the holiday season is in full swing, so are the sales and the deals which come with it. Gaming products like consoles are always among the top sellers in the sales season and always top the sales charts. This year it has been no different as PlayStation 5 is among the most sold items in the Cyber Monday sale.
After the waves Xbox Series X made on the Black Friday sales holiday, PlayStation 5 is having its moment now.
Major Takeaways:
- PlayStation 5 was the most sold console on Cyber Monday.
- The Sony product came 2nd in the general product sales list, behind Legos.
- Madden NFL 23 was the most sold game of the holiday and took the No.4 spot in general sales.
USA Today posted these numbers in their Cyber Monday sales report. According to the publication, shoppers spent an insane $11 billion on Cyber Monday sales. This is more than the $9 billion shoppers spent on Black Friday sales, and PS5 has done well in the more valuable sales holiday.
PlayStation 5 was overall the 2nd best-selling item in the Cyber Monday sale. Only the Lego toys sold more than the Sony console due to the fire sales on the popular toy line and were Number 1. Hence, the console came 2nd only to a massive toy line targeted toward children, which is a good result.
Cyber Monday was a resurgence for the PlayStation 5, after a rather dismal Thanksgiving and Black Friday. It did not make the top 5 lists of either holiday and got beaten by its competitors. However, it has returned to form on a sale day in which Americans spent more money.
PlayStation 5 selling like hotcakes on Cyber Monday is no fluke either. There were more sales on the console this Cyber Monday than there were on either Thanksgiving or Black Friday. So, the console bouncing back to form isn’t much of a surprise.
Madden NFL 23 was the most sold video game on Cyber Monday sales day. It also makes the overall top 5 of most sold items on the sales holiday. The American Football game takes the Number 4 spot, just behind the Hot Wheels toy line, which is also very popular.
Smart Watches wrap up this general top 5 of the most sold items on Cyber Monday. The money spent was up 6% from the last Cyber Monday, with $12.8 million spent every minute from 5 to 6 PM. Only 2 gaming products made the list just like on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, but the items were different.
Xbox Series X was the best-selling console on Black Friday, while also being the most-sold general item. Nintendo Switch took the No.1 spot on Thanksgiving and was the highest-selling console and general item. Hence you can say Series X won Black Friday, the Switch won Thanksgiving, and the PlayStation 5 won Cyber Monday.
No raw numbers are available to compare which console actually sold the most numbers. But one thing is for sure, all of the major consoles had their period of success this sales season. Most people buy things from these sales hence topping these charts displays the demand for consoles.
