EA Surveys Fan Interest For Dead Space 2 And 3 Remakes

Gloomwood developer and New Blood employee Dillon Rogers has shared photos of an EA survey on Twitter. The images apparently ask people whether they’d be interested in remakes of Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3. The applicable responses to the questions range from “Not at all interested” to “Extremely interested.”

The original Dead Space remake launched to terrific fanfare, with the game topping sales charts shortly after its release and outclassing the likes of God of War Ragnarok, FIFA 23, Forspoken, and even Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. 

That is to say; it certainly wouldn’t come off as a surprise if EA were to start greenlighting new Dead Space projects in the context of a remake, given how their first venture has appealed to the masses in such a brilliant manner. 

Aligning just perfectly with this latest scoop is how the developers have incorporated a hint of a Dead Space 2 remake in the freshly released third-person survival shooter. There are audio logs that players can access after beating the game and starting the title afresh in the New Game Plus mode.

The audio log features an email exchange between two distinct characters and the conversation furthers when one of the figures talks about decommissioning and starting their work at The Sprawl—a prominent location in Dead Space 2 and the base of where the game’s events are set. 

Therefore, it is possible that follow-up sequels are already in the brewer over at EA’s offices, considering how the developers dropped this subtle suggestion in the latest Dead Space remake. Dead Space 2, in particular, has been the fan-favorite in the franchise, amounting to a rip-roaring storyline with thrilling gameplay.

Although the third rendition in the series did have its fair share of ups and downs, considering how its development didn’t exactly go according to plan, a complete rebuild of that title could switch things up dramatically for it as well.

Dead Space (2023) has appealed fanatically to the masses, declaring itself as the peak survival horror action that one could just pick up right now and run with it. Reportedly, it took around 2.5 years for Motive Studio to develop the remake, which led to an initial Metacritic score that ran just rampant.

Dead Space is out now for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. Unfortunately, for many, old-gen platforms couldn’t be a part of the title’s release consortium.
