Announced 343 Industries at E3 in 2018, Halo Infinite has been a highly anticipated game by fanatics of the franchise. Since the announcement, players have been eagerly waiting for the release of the latest instalment to the renowned franchise. Earlier in June 2021, 343 Industries announced that the free-to-play online multiplayer would be featuring Seasons, following the footsteps of many notable games, such as Fortnite and Call of Duty. It was later announced by the Head of Creative at Halo, Joseph Staten, that Season 1 of Halo Infinite would be called “Heroes of Reach”. “I can share that we picked ‘Heroes of Reach’ as a Seasonal theme for very specific reasons,” he said. However, things seem different with the release of the first multiplayer beta of Halo Infinite, as we’ve come to know that the Season 1 of the much-anticipated FPS was supposed to be called “Noble Sacrifice”.
As posted by a user on Reddit, the former name for Season 1 of Halo Infinite was never meant to be “Heroes of Reach”. Instead, it was “Noble Sacrifice”. u/superwalrusbros mentions that they briefly received access to the insider build of Halo Waypoint and found a page containing information about the upcoming Halo Infinite. While there wasn’t any information about the release date for Halo Infinite, we do now know that “Heroes of Reach” was originally meant to be called “Noble Sacrifice”. Additionally, the page also included some in-game screenshots, which are supposedly just placeholders. The page has now been deleted, so this is certainly something that 343 Industries didn’t want us to see.
The upcoming instalment of the notable franchise by 343 Industries will continue the iconic narrative that was left off from Fireteam Raven back in 2018. Unfortunately, not much information has been provided about Halo Infinite and its possible narrative or what will be included in it. Hopefully, we will receive more information about the much-awaited game and the new Seasons it’ll include, as time goes on. Whether Season 1 of Halo Infinite will be called “Noble Sacrifice” or “Heroes of Reach”, we do know from our experiences with other similar games that players are in for many rewards that they can earn through the Battle Pass.
