A Plague Tale Developer Has A New AAA Title In The Works

Asobo Studio, creators of A Plague Tale, is working on a new AAA PC/Cloud project (credits to Timur222). The information comes from the LinkedIn profile of Olivier Goguel, who serves as the Technical Director for the product. Aside from A Plague Tale, Asobo Studio is known for its work on Microsoft Flight Simulator, among other projects such as the Xbox 360 port of Ubisoft‘s The Crew.

A Plague Tale has seen the launch of two games since 2019 and has been nominated for several awards owing to its achievements. The series follows Amicia de Rune, a 15-year-old french girl of noble lineage during the Hundred Years’ War period, as she makes discoveries about the world and searches for a cure for her little brother’s illness. A sequel, taking place six months after the original, was released in 2022.

The series combines a third-person camera with stealth-based gameplay and unique systems. Expanding upon their formula in Innocence, Asobo Studio added a crossbow in the sequel. This addition increased the pace of its gameplay while elevating the overall caliber of the experience. Crossing over a million players within its first month, Requiem showed that single-player games are still in demand.

The quality of A Plague Tale titles shows the potential of Asobo Studio. Seeing as they are currently working on a AAA project tied to cloud-based technologies, we can but look forward to further information in the future. As of this moment, there has been no announcement, but things will hopefully be revealed in due time.
