The lead developer of the game, Neil Druckmann, confirmed that The Last of Us Part 1 will run on Steam Deck, and Valve had used screenshots from the game to promote the portable before launch, so it had looked as though Steam Deck would be verified, or at least partially supported.

The Last of Us has been officially tagged as unsupported on Steam Deck on its arrival, with Naughty Dog stating that having it verified will have to wait till the game is patched up on PC in the latest Twitter thread. The Last of Us Part 1 has just been released on PC, however, gamers are quite dissatisfied with the port, with “mostly negative” ratings on Steam at the time of writing.
Naughty Dog’s classic 2013 hit’s remake, which has made landfall on PC, was highly anticipated, but it hasn’t gone over well with fans so far. Since its debut, the game has been plagued by bugs and poor performance. Players were ready to file complaints after experiencing several crashes and other similar concerns. However, the developers have subsequently addressed the community, stating that fixes are on the way.
