Whether you’re pushing back combatants of the darkness in PVE or battling against Guardians in PVP, the list of the best Destiny 2 Fusion Rifles is something that every player may want to know sooner or later. Fusion rifles are charged energy rifles that mainly take up your secondary slot as special weapons. These weapons are most notable for their viability in close-range situations when used in short and quick bursts on your foes.
- Fusion Rifles in Destiny 2 are a type of energy weapon that fires a burst of energy projectiles.
- They are versatile and suitable for both close and medium-range engagements, offering a balance between the rapid fire of auto rifles and the precision of sniper rifles.
- Fusion Rifles have a charge time before firing, requiring players to time their shots carefully for optimal damage.
- They come in various archetypes, including high-impact, precision, and rapid-fire, each catering to different playstyles.
- Selecting the best Fusion Rifle depends on a player’s playing style and fighting strategies.
- Author’s Note: I’ve played Destiny 2 for more than 2500 hours via the Riot Client, experiencing every mechanic and element the title has to offer.

1. Riptide
- Why I Chose This: The Riptide may honestly be one of the Best legendary weapons right now as it supports chill clip and is easy to farm via focused decoding.
- The perks for the PVE God roll allows you to freeze targets momentarily.
- Accelerated Coils will allow you to shoot the Riptide even faster.
- The weapon is highly accessible.
- The range is too low for it to compete against most weapons of the Meta in PVP.
- Trying to acquire the God roll can be a hassle.
2. Vex Mythoclast
- Why I Chose This: Vex Mythoclast is a fan-favorite as it boasts a powerful rate of fire and a precision firing mode that can dominate both PVP & PVE.
- The Vex Mythoclast, shreds almost everything in both PVP and PVE using its strong burst shots.
- The catalyst significantly boosts its viability, making it overpowered in PVP.
- You can farm the final encounter of the raid in order to obtain the weapon.
- It has fantastic burst fire to damage major-type enemies.
- The alt-firing mode of the Vex Mythoclast does not have viable damage.
- Despite being powerful in almost any scenario, the weapon does not support any Champion mods.
3. Loaded Question
- Why I Chose This: Loaded Question offers great synergy with grenade builds in PVE with perks such as Demolitionist and Envious Assassin to grant kills easily.
- The Loaded Question is also a fantastic fusion rifle for PVP.
- The High-Impact frame helps it easily mow down the health bar of major enemies.
- Perks such as Frenzy might come off as useless.
- There is quite a damage falloff when using the Loaded Question at long-range distances.
4. One Thousand Voices
- Why I Chose This: One Thousand Voices can be found via the Last Wish raid, and its powerful explosive beam can shatter any kind of foe, be it PVE or PVP.
- The weapon can easily take out numerous targets in PVP if you use the trailing beam efficiently.
- The explosion damage is optimal for bosses.
- With the new changes in Season 21, you can now increase the drop chances.
- The slow charge time of the weapon can make it tedious to use in PVP.
- The limited ammo reserves can make DPS cycles on bosses severely lackluster.
- As of Season 21, there is no exotic catalyst for the weapon to improve its perks or properties.
5. Midha’s Reckoning
- Why I Chose This: The Midha’s Reckoning is a returning weapon with the reprisal of the King’s Fall raid, which has a great selection of perks and an adept version.
- The weapon has a good selection of perks.
- The Backup Plan perk makes the Midha’s Reckoning the best PVP Destiny 2 Fusion Rifles.
- Backup Plan grants you a reduced charge time and handling upon hot-swapping to it.
- The reload speed is extremely subpar.
- The Rapid-Fire fusions will always be a popular choice over the High-impact ones like Midha’s Reckoning.
6. Deliverance
- Why I Chose This: Deliverance can be obtained via the Vow of the Disicple raid and is another stasis fusion rifle with fantastic perks such as chill clip and demolitionist.
- Chill Clip is the best perk for the fabled godroll.
- You can also opt to craft it and use enhanced demolitions.
- Overall, the weapon is reliable on all fronts and has adequate stats.
- Deliverance has a perk pool where almost half of them are pretty subpar.
- I believe there are better options than it, such as Midha’s Reckoning.
7. Iterative Loop
- Why I Chose This: Iterative Loop is a brand-new fusion rifle with the Lightfall DLC, which has a unique origin trait that fires nano-rockets and rare perks such as voltshot.
- The best perks for the weapon are either under pressure or compulsive reloader and Voltshot.
- Voltshot is an interesting perk that can greatly help with ad clear.
- Iterative Loop is great for PVP.
- Despite being a rapid-fire frame, the Iterative Loop lacks in range.
- Challenging in PVP with a single burst at mid-range scenarios.
Best Fusion Rifle Ranking Criteria
I (Steam Name: LIONT4MER) was chosen to create the following list of the best Fusion Rifles. I have over 2000+ hours of experience across Destiny 1, back on old-gen consoles, and now Destiny 2. Having up-to-date information regarding the current meta, sandbox, and feedback from fellow clan members allowed me to discuss each weapon accordingly and with their best positions in both PVP and PVE.
For now, this wraps up my guide, and if you’re still on the fence about playing or starting this game, then I highly recommend you to check out my Review of Destiny 2, in which I briefly discussed each expansion as well as how the game has shaped since its initial launch back in 2017.
Destiny 2 has remained one of the top dog looter shooters in the industry, and despite its shortcomings, Bungie continues to strive at its utmost to deliver a challenging yet welcoming experience for its player base, both veterans and casuals.
