This quest is handed to you after completing the Lightfall campaign, so let’s discuss an overview of that quest along with the Epochal Integration’s stats as well as its viability in PVP and PVE.

How To Get Epochal Integration In Destiny 2
The Epochal Integration Hand Cannon in Destiny 2 is acquired via the “Parting the Veil” quest, which becomes available to you by Nimbus on Neomuna once you complete the Lightfall DLC campaign.
Going over the quest itself, while I have detailed a walkthrough for it separately in its guide, it isn’t something too difficult to complete, especially if you’re a solo player, since it mostly requires you to complete a few miscellaneous objectives and finish the quest off with a special mission where you fight against a unique Tormentor boss called the Imprint of Nezarec.
To give you a rough idea, the following are the quest steps/objectives of the quest, which rewards you with the Epochal Integration in addition to a new Strand subclass aspect:
- Defeat Cabal in Neomuna to find Vex tracking data
- Acquire Vex data from Maya’s Retreat
- Acquire additional Vex data from the exterior of the Irkalla Complex
- Complete the “Parting the Veil” mission
- Meditate on your findings at the Pouka Pond
- Claim your new Strand Aspect

Performance In PVE
As a player of Destiny 2 who’s rarely used Hand Cannons in PVE (excluding Sunshot) since Destiny 1, the Epochal Integration is immensely fun to use, considering you take into account the fairly recent seasonal update that has buffed Hand Cannon damage in PVE against both red and orange health bar enemies. In seasonal activities such as Savathun’s Spire, shown in the image above, it can be a powerful weapon.

- However, I would advise against using it in endgame content such as Grandmaster Nightfalls since you have much better meta PVE weapon options.
Performance In PVP
Personally, the only Hand Cannons that are top-tier for me in PVP of Destiny 2 would be the Ace of Spades or either Eyasluna and the Palindrome. But in the case of the Epochal Integration, I would say it’s fairly decent as it can 3-tap enemy Guardians on direct headshots.
- Of course, the perks you want equipping for PVP are Keep Away and Eye of the Storm.
- 70 headshot damage with minimal falloff at 65 pretty much made the Epochal Integration a good substitute Hand Cannon for those who don’t have a god-rolled 140RPM or are accustomed to that archetype.
- While Keep Away is certainly a decent choice, I would argue that the weapon would’ve been superb for PVP if it featured Rangefinder as an option.
