Bungie has rolled out Destiny 2 Patch 7.2.5 bringing a number of changes to the game. The patch has fixed several bugs as well as has brought quality-of-life changes to the first-person shooter title. The studio has nerfed some of the gear while removing a few abilities from some items to balance the gameplay.
While the Destiny 2 Patch 7.2.5 is a routine update aimed at addressing player feedback, some of the changes are worth the mention. As seen in the patch notes, the update has fixed multiple bugs in the Crucible including an issue with the usage of Sparrows on the Multiplex map. The usage of Icarus Dash with Aegis Shield has also been disabled for the Crucible’s Relic mode.
The hotfix also comes with a few changes to the Raid and Dungeon game mode. According to the patch notes, Encounter challenges have been activated for the Root of Nightmares while for Grasp of Avarice, the update has fixed the issue which saw players lose additional ability charges when “acquiring ten Burdened by Riches.”
Destiny 2 Patch 7.2.5 also comes with some important weapon changes to Bungie’s FPS title. According to update notes, the recoil in the SMGs has been increased by 10% and the stability bonus on the keyboard and mouse has been reduced to 10% from 20%. The airborne pellet spread penalty for Pellet Shotguns has been decreased by 20%.
For Auto Rifles, Aim Down Sight Damage Falloff Scalar in adaptive, rapid-fire, and precision firing modes has been scaled down from 1.7x to 1.6x. The base damage for the adaptive firing mode has been buffed from 14.25 to 15. According to the patch notes, the airborne accuracy penalty for Sniper Rifles and Shotguns has been reduced by 20% which means that they “are now as accurate at the base as they were before airborne effectiveness (AE) with Icarus Grip.”
Furthermore, Bungie has buffed and debuffed the title’s weapon perk system as well. As mentioned in notes for Destiny 2 Patch 7.2.5, Perfect Float’s base duration has been buffed from 6s to 10s along with an increase from 7s to 12s for the perk’s extended duration. A change in Enhanced Heal Clip will allow players to heal their allies “when reloading after a kill.” The damage bonus for the Kickstart perk has been reduced from 20% to 15%.
