Modern Warfare 3 Dec. 19 Patch Enhances Zombie Mode, Buffs Cyro Freeze

The update sees nominal changes to the mode's weapons as well.

Sledgehammer Games has released a minor Dec. 19 Patch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 bringing nominal changes to the game’s Zombie mode on the first day of the CODMAS event. The patch has brought multiple changes to the mode’s gameplay and has been aimed at improving the player experience while also giving the means to devise new strategies.

As stated in the patch note for the Dec. 19 Patch, the mission progress in the Automated Backup Mission of Act 1 will now keep records of the regular turret circuits which will eventually influence the automated defences and the mission’s progress. This will require the players to come up with different strategies of coordination.

The patch has brought significant changes to Cyro Freeze as well. Appearing particularly in The Freezer Burn mission, the weapon previously could only be used to kill the enemies but the update has additional slowing down the enemies mechanic to it. Additionally, the difficulty of the Gorm’gant boss fight in Dead Signal in Act 4, which proved to be a bit difficult for solo players, has been adjusted to “scale better for solo players.”

Activision released the Dec. 19 Patch to mark the commencing of the CODMAS event which takes place from December 19 to January 3 as part of Christmas and New Year celebrations. Moreover, the update has introduced an option to disable We’ve deployed an update to disable the Maelstrom Dual Trigger Attachment on the Lockwood 300 Shotgun Call of Duty Warzone significantly nerfing up the OP weapon.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was released to a disappointingly underwhelming reception on the back of much internet hype and anticipation on November 10, 2023. The game was called mediocre and an insult to the original Call of Duty series.
