Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a franchise iteration no one was really expecting, but given how the game has turned out, fans and players are glad to have a fantastic new side-scrolling Metroidvania at their disposal. The good news is, if you’ve been holding out on purchasing The Lost Crown, now might be just the time for you to jump right in. Best Buy’s offering a $20 discount on the game for a limited time.
And the pricing that you see above isn’t just for the PlayStation 5—other platforms that the game is on, namely PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, have all been treated to the same $20 discount. Best act quickly, because I don’t presume this deal is going to stick around forever.
A Well-Grounded Metroidvania That’s Dripping In Quality
I played through the side-scroller and had a blast, even though my initial expectations were far off, and the disappointment with Ubisoft’s approach to a new Prince of Persia game still lingered in the back of my mind. Turns out, this is an incredibly enjoyable 2.5D Metroidvania that pretty much checks most boxes off, including gameplay, art direction, and exploration, save for a few hiccups here and there.
In other news, the Senior Game Designer of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown expressed their interest in making a Zelda spin-off in the same vein as this game, saying, “Personally, I would LOVE to work with the Zelda IP. Maybe a strange spin-off based on Adventure of Link? I don’t doubt Ubisoft Montpelier would do a great job on this front as well.Related Content to Check Out:
