The leak shows all the abstract map and a few streets.

Story Highlights

  • The full map of The Sims 5 has allegedly leaked online by datamining a playtest build.
  • It shows an abstract layout of the current world and a few images of random streets.
  • The entry has seen many leaks since the playtests started.

The full map of The Sims 5 has recently leaked online. The Reddit user u/DzXAnt22 has shared the complete map he datamined by digging into the playtest build leaked just a few weeks ago. The map—uploaded on Imgur—shows the abstract layout of how the world looks—at least at the current time of development. A huge river can be seen flowing along with a deep web of streets and lanes spread throughout the world.

Project Rene Map

The leak also shows a few images of random streets in the title. The creator confirms the map’s credibility by showing that the in-game images line up correctly with the datamined map. Also, the map could be based on Paris, as the dataminer found various real-life references in the game files. Many elements in playtest build also suggest that the game is open world, as per the leaker.

The Sims 5 Has Seen Constant Leaks Ever Since Playtests Began

Codenamed Project Rene, the barrage of leaks has not let the free-to-play title rest for long. A few weeks ago, the PC and Android playtest builds were leaked online, which were likely used by the dataminer. While I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news, Denuvo was also found in the PC build. Regardless, many pre-alpha pictures have also surfaced in the past. And there have been many other leaks that have since been removed.

All in all, we suggest taking the rumors with a grain of salt. The release date for the game is still unknown.
