Team17’s Sale On Steam Is A Gift; Here’s What You Should Check Out

Blasphemous 2 and Trepang 2, for starters, are absolutely worth picking up.

Story Highlights

  • Team17 is an English video game publisher and developer, first founded in December 1990.
  • The company has a slew of its games up on discounted deals on Steam at the moment until June 27.
  • Titles such as Blasphemous 2, Hell Let Loose, and Trepang 2 are exceptionally praise-worthy and must-plays.

Steam is currently hosting a dedicated sale on its official storefront, with Team17 chiming in to offer some of its best-made games at fantastic prices. As soon as I saw the spotlight event, I hurried to check out the available listings, and happily enough, some of the best games out there in their respective genres have been discounted handsomely. You’d be mistaken not to delve into what Steam has to offer right now.

For the following listicle, I’ve decided to put together a list of top-tier Team17 games that the company has either developed itself or published, so you don’t have to do the work yourself. And if this is your first time learning about some of the titles under the name of Team17, I really encourage you to look further. This is a solid video game company we’ve got here.

Best Team17 Discounts On Steam That You Cannot Sleep On

Make sure to comment down below if you happen to spot a great deal that’s not on here already. Doing so would help spread the word.

1. Blasphemous 2

Blasphemous 2
Blasphemous 2 Is an Enthralling 2D Side-Scroller

We’ve got Blasphemous 2 right up front to begin with here, coming across as one of the best indie games I’ve played in recent memory, with many others sharing the same sentiment as well. The title may not have an absurd number of reviews on Steam that would hint at its popularity, but take it from me when I tell you that you’re sleeping on one masterpiece of a Metroidvania when you’re not playing this side-scroller.

You can get it for 50% off right now, which cuts the MSRP of the game down to $9.99. In short, this is the best 10 bucks you’ll be spending in a while, especially if you have a sprawling love for side-scrollers as well. eXputer rated Blasphemous 2 a solid 4 out of 5 in its review, with author Haris Umer remarking,

Blasphemous 2 offers a unique Metroidvania experience while managing to overcome almost all of the flaws of its predecessor.”

2. Trepang2

Love first-person shooters? You have to step up and stop turning a blind eye toward the awesomeness that Trepang 2 is, day in and day out. The game is a single-player-focused action RPG with a superpower-infused protagonist, featuring remarkable visuals and outstanding gameplay. In a separate piece talking about modern-day gaming technology, my colleague Shayan talks about Trepang2 in the following words,

Taking Trepang2 into focus, the game somewhat rivals Wolfenstein in its ideas, graphics, gameplay, and most importantly taking on dozens of enemies in the notorious dual-wield style.”

3. Overcooked! 2

Overcooked 2
Overcooked 2 Is Not Your Average Cooking Game

What happens when you give a cooking simulator a wild, inspired twist? Well, of course, you get Overcooked! 2, which is nothing short of exhilarating fun on multiple levels, considering how the game tests your skill and patience as you try to become a chef in the face of constant danger. It’s full of chaos, but you cannot complain that the title is high quality. Typical of Team17, definitely.

4. Thymesia

Thymesia
Thymesia Is Supremely Badass

Next up, we’ve got a lesser-known Soulslike in the house in the name of Thymesia. It’s a fantastic action-adventure with a dark tone and setting yet with sublime combat gameplay, where each registered hit has just the right amount of “oomph” to it. At less than $5, I’d say you’ll be getting a lot more than your money’s worth with this one. Don’t sleep on it. Not a good idea.

5. Hell Let Loose

Hell Let Loose
Hell Let Loose Is a Distinct First-Person Shooter

I recommended Hell Let Loose in another one of my articles for the game’s stand-out ability to classify itself as a special first-person shooter. This is not your regular Call of Duty, Fortnite, or Apex Legends—it delves heavily into the side of tactical, strategy-based combat instead, one where you are generously rewarded for your leadership, communication, and cooperative play.

Furthermore, the game, considering its World War 2 premise, is grounded in reality, so do not expect flashy gunplay or anything of the sort. This is real, hard warfare, one where you have to be at the top of your game to lay waste to the opposing side. However, that is not to say that the shooter isn’t beginner-friendly. It’s actually got a great community around it, certainly much better than Rainbow Six Siege.

This game is a ptsd simulator lmao (hell let loose)

6. The Escapists 2

The Escapists 2 Is Lightweight Fun

For $3.99, there are heaps of content in The Escapists 2 that you might want to dive into. This is a classic RPG with a catchy art direction for a prison escape title, and enticing gameplay mechanics, featuring an isometric camera style that keeps you engaged throughout time.
