This Sekiro-Inspired 2D Metroidvania Has Been Now Rated For Consoles

More players could get to play it soon.

The Sekiro-inspired 2D metroidvania, Nine Sols, has been rated for all consoles in Taiwan.
The launch dates are yet to be approved, but it may drop on consoles sometime in the future.
Nine Sols originally came out on May 29, 2023, for PC and macOS and was quite well-received.

As found by Gematsu on Twitter, Nine Sols, the Sekiro-inspired action platformer, has now been rated for all consoles after leaving lasting impressions on PC since last year. The entry was rated by the Taiwan Entertainment Software Rating Information Board for the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox X|S platforms. The PG-15 rating was chosen because of “violence, horror, tobacco, and alcohol,” among other grim gameplay inneudos.

However, it may take RedCandleGames a long time before we see the title on other platforms since launch dates have not yet been approved in the ratings.

Nine Sols Combines The Best Elements Of Metroidvania And Souls-Like

The ability to slash and charge into enemies while deflecting their attacks makes combat an extremely fun experience. The lore, exploration, and all the other elements also come together to create a unique and fun platformer. Additionally, the boss fights are as close to Souls-like as you can get in a 2D entry. As a result, many players who were not too keen on the metroidvania genre have been getting into it because of Nine Sols.

Follow Yi on his vengeful quest against the 9 Sols, formidable rulers of this forsaken realm, and obliterate any obstacles blocking your way in Sekiro-lite style combat. Explore in unique ‘Taopunk’ setting that blends cyberpunk elements with Taoism and far eastern mythology. Unravel the mysteries of an ancient alien race and learn about the fate of mankind,” reads the description.
