Story Highlights
- Darksiders 4 is targeted for Embracer’s FY 2027/2028, running April 2027 through March 2028.
- Gunfire Games will be handling the development.
- The same window also covers a new Kingdom Come game and Tomb Raider: Catalyst.
Darksiders 4 Gets Its Clearest Window Yet

Embracer listed Darksiders 4 among its expected FY 2027/2028 releases in its latest interim financial report.
In FY 2027/28, we expect the release of the next game in the Kingdom Come franchise from Warhorse Studios, Darksiders 4 from Gunfire Games, as well as the externally published Tomb Raider: Catalyst from Crystal Dynamics along with Flying Wild Hog and Eidos Montréal.”
That places the planned launch somewhere between April 1, 2027, and March 31, 2028. It’s a broad window, but it’s the clearest signal Embracer has given so far, and it confirms Darksiders 4 isn’t an imminent 2026 release.
A Plan, Not A Locked Date
Fiscal windows show what a publisher currently expects, not a guaranteed date. Embracer’s own report is proof of how much that can shift: Dawn of War IV, another game in the same publishing group, was delayed from September to December 2026 in this very report. Darksiders 4 could land anywhere within its window, or slip past it, until Embracer confirms an exact date.
For now, the takeaway is simple: Darksiders 4 from Gunfire Games is planned for release no later than March 31, 2028, alongside a new Kingdom Come game and Tomb Raider: Catalyst in the same fiscal year.
