The Best AC Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarok Weapons

Through our AC Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarok best weapons guide, you will be able to select the top weapons introduced through this DLC.

Dawn of Ragnarok is the latest expansion released by Ubisoft for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Just like the previous expansions of the game, this one has also added a plethora of new content to the game. This includes new enemies, armors, weapons, and more. The enemies introduced through this new DLC are tough, and while you can use skills, you will need the right weapons in your hands to defeat them. To help you out, we are going to create an AC Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarok best weapons guide in which we are going to mention the top weapons found in this new DLC.

Key Highlights
  • The new and final DLC of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla comes with a new series of weapons for players to obtain.
  • Some of the new weapons in the DLC include Jotnar Cleaver, Fiery Warsong, Thorgrim’s Dying Breath, and Fenrir’s Incisor.
  • Jotnar Cleaver is easily the best for players who struggle with adrenaline depletion as every time you get a critical hit with this weapon, the adrenaline will refill with a 50% chance.
    • The weapon is obtainable after getting all the Jotun Armor pieces, after which you will have to defeat a boss called Riekr.
  • Fiery Warsong is a heavy weapon and what makes it unique is that every time you are surrounded by 3 enemies or more, the weapon catches fire and applies a burn effect onto enemies if attacked.
    • You will need three pieces for this weapon and you can get them by defeating all three Simara’s Chosen.
  • Thorgrim’s Dying Breath is also a heavy weapon and its perk is that every time a critical strike occurs to an enemy, the enemy gets knocked down giving you an upper hand.
    • This weapon is found inside a chest that is in the center of Oswaldo.
  • Fenrir’s Incisor being a dagger makes it so that every time you attack, you consume 20% less stamina whilst also having a high attack speed letting you deal high damage output.
    • This weapon is found inside a building in Gimsteinhus that can only be entered with the help of the Power of Jotunheim.
  • Apart from these weapons, players can also try out the All-Father’s Guard and Aesir Eye.

AC Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarok Best Weapons

The Dawn of Ragnarok expansion has added a bunch of new weapons to the game. There is a new weapon type, Atgeir, that is capable of delivering heavy attacks to the enemies. We are going to mention a total of five weapons, along with a shield, in our guide. For each weapon, we are going to talk about how it performs in combat, what its perk is, and how you can acquire it. Keep in mind that these weapons can also be upgraded to further improve their stats. So without wasting another second, let’s dive into the list of AC Vallhala Ragnarok best weapons.

We’ve gathered the best weapons with their stats in AC Valhalla:

Jotnar Cleaver

The first weapon that I would like to mention that has made its way into Assassin’s Creed Valhalla through the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC is the Jotnar Cleaver. There are a bunch of axes in the game that you can use, but the Jotnar Cleaver is easily one of the best ones. In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, along with weapons, abilities play a key role in taking enemies down. While they are extremely useful in clearing large crowds of enemies quickly, they can also help you take down powerful foes easily. However, to use abilities, you need enough Adrenaline.

To find how much Adrenaline you have, you can check the yellow bar above your health bar. Adrenaline can be increased by consuming certain foods, defeating enemies, and so on. However, if you’re someone who is always running out of Adrenaline, then you can use the Jotnar Cleaver to eliminate this problem. This new axe comes with a perk that will provide you with a 50% chance to fill up the Andreline bar with a critical hit. It has a cooldown of 15 seconds, but it can prove to be extremely useful in multiple situations.

When paired with the right abilities, such as the Riposte, the Jotnar Cleaver can help you eliminate even the toughest of opponents quickly and easily. You just need to select an ability that will suit your playstyle the best.

Getting the Jotnar Cleaver is a time-consuming task. In fact, it is the most difficult weapon to acquire in our AC Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarok best weapons list. To get it, you will first need to get all the Jotun Mantle armor pieces. Once done, make your way to the location marked in the image below, where you’ll be able to walk through the portal to engage in a total of three boss fights. If you don’t have the entire armor equipped, you won’t be able to enter through the portal. After you take down all three bosses, you’ll unlock the Jotnar Cleaver as a reward.

All-Father’s Guard

Now, while our AC Valhalla Ragnarok best weapons guide includes all the top weapons that you can find, it is important to mention something that can help you with defense as well. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla lets players use shields in combat, something they can use to protect themselves from incoming attacks. Whether the attack is ranged or up close, these shields are here to help you survive longer in combat. Thankfully, Ubisoft has introduced a new shield through the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC, called the All-Father’s Guard.

All-Father’s Guard

Just by looking at the All-Father’s Guard, you’ll be able to tell that this shield was once used by some powerful people. Its official description even confirms that it is “treasured by the Valkyries. Compared to some of the other shields in the game, this one offers a good amount of protection, and it even comes with a perk that increases your ability’s damage while parrying. The effect lasts for 10 seconds, but it’s something that can help you a lot when you’re spamming attacks on your enemies.

To get your hands on the All-Father’s Guard shield, you will need to buy it for 2800 Arena tokens.

Fiery Warsong

Next, we have the Fiery Warsong. Two-handed weapons in AC Valhalla are heavy weapons that hit hard. These weapons are capable of dealing a good amount of damage with each hit, and the Fiery Warsong is no different.

The Fiery Warsong is an Atgeir, a new weapon type that is introduced through the update. The weapon can drain a lot of your enemy’s health with each attack, and it also offers good stun damage. But the thing which makes the Fiery Warsong one of the best weapons in AC Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarok is its ability to deal fire damage. If you get surrounded by three or more enemies, the weapon will get set on fire. Thanks to this, you’ll be able to set your enemies on fire, something that will deal damage to them over time.

Fiery Warsong
Fiery Warsong

This is something that can prove to be extremely helpful when fighting against a group of enemies. But as soon as the number of enemies reduces to less than three, the fire will go away. Furthermore, a big downside about the Fiery Warsong is that you’ll be facing a lot of Muspel enemies in the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC who are immune to fire damage, so the weapon won’t be of that much use against them.

To get your hands on the Fiery Warsong, you will first need to defeat the Simara’s Chosen. For those who don’t know, these are three new enemies who are absolute beasts in combat. They can be found at different locations throughout the map. However, they don’t stay at a fixed location, so you’ll need to follow the white helmet icon on the map to locate them.

After you defeat all three of them, take the weapon pieces that you collected from them to any blacksmith to craft the weapon.

Thorgrim’s Dying Breath

Dawn of Ragnarok has introduced a couple of new enemies in the game, and some of them are not easy to take down. They have various skills up their sleeves, and you must be careful around them. Otherwise, you’ll get killed instantly. As for Thorgrim’s Dying Breath, it is a weapon that is designed to help you against these powerful foes.

The Thorgrim’s Dying Breath is also a heavy weapon that is capable of dealing a great amount of damage with each hit. However, this isn’t the reason why it’s mentioned in our AC Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarok best weapons list. Its perk is what makes it an excellent weapon in combat as thanks to it, you can knock down an enemy on the ground with a Heavy Critical Hit.

No matter which enemy you’re facing, if you manage to land a Heavy Critical Hit on them, they’ll instantly fall on the ground. This will provide you with the luxury of performing a Stomp attack. Through this, you’ll be able to drain a good amount of health of strong opponents, while weak enemies will instantly get eliminated.

Thorgrim’s Dying Breath

While it isn’t something that can be extremely useful against a group of enemies like the Fiery Warson, it’s an ideal weapon when facing a tough opponent, such as one of Sinmara’s Chosen. You can also pair this weapon with some Armor sets that grant benefits with critical strikes so that you get the most out of it.

To get the Thorgrim’s Dying Breath, first, make your way to a place called Gaseous, which can be found in the center of Oswaldo. This is a sunken village where you’ll find two buildings. The west one has the key, which you will need to unlock a chest containing the weapon in the east building.

First, dive underwater and make your way inside the west building. Once inside, go up the stairs and you’ll find the key right in front of you. Turn around and you’ll see a door, which you can use after breaking its lock. Then, go inside the east building, which you can access by using a window found on the left side of the building. After unlocking the door, go the basement through the hole on the ground and then dive again to find the chest.

Fenrir’s Incisor

Daggers in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are one of my favorite weapons to use because of how quick they are. They are something that can prove to be brutal in close-ranged combat, and they can help you take down the enemy quickly thanks to their fast nature of attacks. As for Fenrir’s Incisor, it is the latest one to join the game’s list of Daggers, and it’s easily one of the best AC Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarok weapons.

If you’re someone who loves to use a lot of special attacks in combat, then it is recommended that you get Fenrir’s Incisor without wasting a single second. This is because the weapon’s perk reduces the amount of stamina consumed by special attacks. Furthermore, the overall Stamina Cost is reduced by 20%.

The perk attached to Fenrir’s Incisor can help you transform this weapon into a lethal killing machine. For instance, you can attach a rune to it that ignites the weapon after critical hits. Then, thanks to the high attack speed of the Dagger and the stamina reduction, you can keep on landing powerful hits on your targets, something that will result in eliminating them quickly.

Fenrir's Incisor
Fenrir’s Incisor

This will also work pretty well against the Forst enemies that you’ll encounter in Dawn of Ragnarok as they are weak against fire. If you have a speed-based attack build, then you should definitely add the Fenrir’s Incisor to your arsenal.

To get the Fenrir’s Incisor in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok, you will first need to go to Gimsteinhus, a village covered in ice. This can be found in the southwest corner of the map.

After your reach, the mentioned location, go to the large stone building and pick u the Power of Jotunheim from the front of it. Then, go to the Shrine that can also be found right next to this building. After you reach the shrine, turn around and you’ll see a teleport target. Get up there by using the Power of Jotunheim. Then, turn around again and use the Power of Jotunheim again on the teleport target that you’ll see inside the building.

Once inside, make your way to the lower portion of the building by breaking the ice on the floor. You’ll then come across an ice wall, which you can shoot to access the chest that has the Fenrir’s Incisor inside it.

Aesir Eye

The final weapon that I would like to mention is the Aesir Eye, another weapon that can help you greatly if you’re constantly running out of Adrenaline. Ranged weapons in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla can help you take down your target from far away. You don’t need to worry about getting close to your target as they can do their job from a great distance as well. As for the Aesir Eye, it is a Hunter Bow that is extremely powerful.

Aesir Eye

The thing which makes the Aesir Eye shine among the bows in the game is its perk. Thanks to it, you gain some Adrenaline after successfully executing a fully charged headshot. The best part is that you also gain Adrenaline through a fully charged headshot with an ability. Because of this, you can deliver powerful attacks on your enemies, without worrying about running out of Adrenaline.

For instance, you can use the new Knockback Arrow with the Aesir Eye, which shoots a lightning arrow that knocks the enemy onto the ground. And when upgraded, the same arrow also stuns the enemies that are around your target. Thanks to the perk attached to the bow, you can keep on using these arrows, as long as you are successfully landing headshots.

Just like the All-Father’s Guard, the Aesir Eye can also be purchased from the Arena for 2800 Arena tokens.
