1) Wanderer Composition
One of the first Genshin Exploration teams will focus on using characters such as Wanderer, Yelan, Zhongli, and Kokomi.
Below listed are the team compositions and their roles in the Genshin Impact Best Exploration Teams:
- Wanderer: DPS and Height Elevator
- Yelan: Sub-DPS and faster sprinting.
- Zhongli: Shielder and extra climbing.
- Kokomi: Healer
- Why I chose this team: Wanderer provides considerable DPS output and overworld exploration.
The pros and cons for using a team with Wanderer (C6) in my experience are listed below:
- Wanderer delivers high Anemo damage.
- Kokomi can heal the entire team easily.
- Wanderer is only available in his limited banner.
Wanderer
Scaramouche is an excellent DPS who can focus on detonating Anemo damage using his regular and charged attacks in the Genshin Teams.
He can use his elemental skill to go into the sky, keep elevating, and assist in puzzles and getting to higher ground.
He can use the Desert Pavilion Chronicle 4-piece set with the Tulaytullah’s Remembrance:
- Flower: Flat HP
- Feather: Flat ATK
- Sands: ATK%
- Goblet: Anemo Damage Bonus
- Circlet: Crit Damage/Crit Rate
Yelan
Yelan is an excellent sub-DPS character in this team, as she can help by carrying out Hydro damage in the teams and targeting enemies with her Elemental Skill.
She can also use her Elemental Skill and sprint faster than all other characters, and if you have her C1, She can sprint one more time.
She can use the Emblem of Severed Fate 4-piece set with the Aqua Simulacra in her Genshin Exploration Teams:

- Feather: Flat ATK
- Sands: HP%/ATK%
- Goblet: Hydrp Damage Bonus
- Circlet: Crit Damage/Crit Rate
Zhongli
Moving on, an important character is Zhongli, who can Shield and elemental skills to protect players,
I also use Zhongli to climb rough structures and terrain using his Elemental Skill.
He will use the 4 piece Tenacity of the Millelith with the Black Tassel for HP Boost:

- Feather: Flat ATK
- Sands: HP%
- Goblet: HP%
- Circlet: HP%
Kokomi
Last but not least, Kokomi is an excellent healer, as she can stop characters from dying and use her Elemental Burst to walk on water.
She can use the 4 piece Ocean Hued Clam or the Maiden’s Beloved as her best in-slot:
- Flower: Flat HP
- Feather: Flat ATK
- Sands: HP%
- Goblet: HP%
- Circlet: Healing Bonus
2) Xiao/Kazuha Comp
The next Best Exploration Teams that you might want to try out are with characters such as Xiao, Kazuha, Zhongli, and Yunjin.
The roles of each character are listed as follows:
- Xiao: DPS character and Elemental Skill assist.
- Kazuha: Sub-DPS and Elemental Skill assist
- Zhongli: Shielder
- Yunjin: Burst assist
- Why I chose this team: It provides excellent Anemo damage from both Xiao and Kazuha.
As far as the pros and cons for a Xiao and Kazuha team are concerned, they are below as follows:
- Xiao’s charged attacks are worth investing in.
- Kazuha can cause a broken Swirl reaction.
- Yunjin can be replaced by any other better support.
Xiao
Firstly, Xiao can act as an excellent DPS who can dish out broken Anemo damage using his Burst and Elemental Skill.
You can also use Xiao in your Exploration Teams in Genshin while casting Elemental Skill to charge horizontally.
The best artifacts for him are the 4 piece Vermillion Hereafter:
- Flower: Flat HP
- Feather: Flat ATK
- Sands: ATK%
- Goblet: Anemo Damage Bonus
- Circlet: Crit Damage/Crit Rate
- Best Sub-Stats: Crit Damage/ Crit Rate/ ATK%
Kazuha
As far as the Sub-DPS is concerned, Kazuha is an excellent choice, as he can Swirl any elements in a reaction and buff damage for teammates.
Kazuha can use his Elemental Skill to get a vertical lift when climbing or flying.
As far as artifacts are concerned, Kazuha can use the 4 piece Viridescent Venereer:

Zhongli
If you want to shield your characters, someone like Zhongli can assist by using his Elemental Skill in your Genshin Exploration Teams.
Zhongli can also be used to climb taller buildings by casting his Elemental skill.

3) Alternate Sprint Combo
Moving on, another excellent Exploration Teams will feature Ayaka, Mona, Sayu, and another fourth slot, such as Zhongli or Kokomi.
The roles of each character are listed as follows:
- Ayaka: Main DPS + Alternate Sprint
- Mona: Sub-DPS + Alternate Sprint
- Sayu: Elemental Skill exploration assist
- Zhongli/Kokomi: Shielder + Healer
- Why I Chose this team: It provides a broken Freeze composition and buffed damage output.
When it comes to the pros and cons, they are mentioned below:
- Ayaka is one of the best Cryo AoE DPSes.
- Mona can boost Ayaka’s damage output.
- Sayu is a replaceable character.
Ayaka
Starting, Ayaka can be a broken main DPS who can unleash Cryo attacks using her ELemental Skill and Elemental Burst.
If her Elemental Skill is held down, you can move forward and sprint underground, which can help you sprint up and down further.
The best artifacts for her are the 4 piece Blizzard Strayer with the Amenoma Kageuchi:
- Flower: Flat HP
- Feather: Flat ATK
- Sands: ATK%
- Goblet: Cryo Damage Bonus
- Circlet: Crit Damage/ Crit Rate
- Sub-Stats: Crit Damage/ Crit Rate/ ATK%/ Energy Recharge
Mona
Being an excellent sub-DPS, Mona can use Elemental Burst to buff Ayaka’s damage output and be an excellent Hydro applicator in her Genshin Exploration Teams.
Just like Ayaka, she can also do alternate sprints, which can help her go up the stairs and rugged terrain.
The best artifact sets for Mona will be the 4 piece Noblesse Oblige:
- Flower: Flat HP
- Feather: Flat ATK
- Sands: ER%
- Goblet: Hydro Damage Bonus
- Circlet: Crit Damage/ Crit Rate
- Sub-Stats: Crit Damage/ Crit Rate/ ATK%/ Energy Recharge
Sayu
Next up, Sayu can be a solid healer and exploration assist as she can use her Elemental Skill to traverse around the lands in the Genshin Teams.
Her best artifacts will be the 4 piece Viridescent Venereer:
- Flower: Flat HP
- Feather: Flat ATK
- Sands: Elemental Mastery
- Goblet: Elemental Mastery
- Circlet: Elemental Mastery
- Best Sub-Stats: Elemental Mastery
Zhongli/Kokomi
Last but not least, Zhongli or Kokomi can be a fourth in-slot, while the other three characters can be the perfect slot.
The 4 piece Ocean Hued Clam can work for Kokomi, while the 4 piece Tenacity of the Millelith can work well for Zhongli in my opinion:

- Feather: Flat ATK
- Sands: HP%
- Goblet: HP%
- Circlet: HP%/Healing Bonus
- Best Sub-Stats: HP%/ Flat HP/ Healing Bonus
4) Focalette Composition
This one is purely for exploration and high-damage output and will include characters such as Neuvillette, Furina, Kazuha, and any other fourth slot.
The roles of the characters are as follows:
- Neuvillette: Main DPS
- Furina: Sub-DPS + water travel assist
- Kazuha: Support + travel assist
- Zhongli: Shielder
- Why I chose this team: Furina provides excellent healing + on-water exploration.
After using Neuvillette, I believe that these are the pros and cons of using the Hydro-based team:
- Neuvillette is a viable Hydro DPS for abyss and Overworld.
- Kazuha can cause assist Neuvillette by enhancing his damage output.
- Neuvillette is a limited banner character.
My Thoughts
After trying out countless exploration teams, Wanderer and Kazuha are probably some of the best characters for aerial exploration. At the same time, Yelan and Sayu are excellent for on-ground exploration. With that, let’s wrap up the Best Exploration Teams!
