Prince of Persia The Lost Crown: Ancient Power Unearthed

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown has quite a few side quests that you can do. These quests can provide you with beneficial items including Amulets. “Ancient Power Unearthed” is a side quest that Kaheva the blacksmith will give you in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown. Completing it will reward you with an extremely useful Amulet. 

Ancient Power Location

To start the quest you must go and talk to Kaheva. Kaheva will be unlocked after you have found the Bow of Menolias. Make your way to the Haven. On the left side of the Old Lady’s Shop, you will see a few platforms; on one, you can see a Gold gate. Enter it and talk to Kaheva who will give you the quest and mark the location of the Ancient power on the map. 

Ancient Power Puzzle

Go to the mark point on your map. You will see a few platforms covering a hole in the ground to the right of the mark. Drop down the platforms and go to the left side. There is a dead end with a trap door on the floor. You can see a gear next to it. 

1. Chakram and Gears: Use your Chakram and aim at the gear to unlock the trap door. 
2. Separated Platforms: Continue going to the left side and you will find another gear with separated platforms over a spiked floor. Use the Chakram on the gear to pull the two platforms together. One of the platforms moves under the rotating spike log. 
3. Recall: Jump to the other side and immediately recall the Chakram to retract the platform and land safely on it.
4. Wall Jump Puzzle: Once you cross to the other side, use the Chakram on the gear on the wall to pull the platform down. Go to the upper floor and then enter the room on the right with a chest.

The Chest Puzzle

Now that you reached the chest you need to open it and get ready. The chest will have nothing in it and the room will transform. Now a new puzzle will start and you need to do it without taking damage to get the reward. The room will transform and spike logs will start to move across the room.

1. First Phase: The first time is easy and you just need to jump over one log. 
2. Second Phase: The second time two logs will come out, one from above moving left and one from below moving right. Move to the far right and jump over the one coming from the left.
3. Third Phase: Three logs will come from the left one after the other. Just jump over them one by one. 
4. Fourth Phase: Now two will come from the right and you need to move to the far left and wall-jump over the logs.
5. Fifth Phase: A log from the left will come rotating. When it rotates up you just need to slide under it. 
6. Final Phase: Three logs will come out, one from above rotating and two from below going in opposite directions. Jump to the right one when the above one is upward and when the log is coming back jump over it.

After the final section, the chest will reappear and now you will get the reward “Raw Ore“.

My Take On Ancient Power Unearthed

There are side quests that will give you useful amulets but Ancient Power Unearted rewards you with one of the best amulets in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown. Once you take the raw ore to Kaheva she will forge the “Shield of Mithra” amulet for you. The reason it is such a good amulet is because parrying enemies will create a bubble around you that slows time. The bubble will slow down any enemy that will enter it.

Moreover, if you upgrade the amulet you can increase the size of the bubble. Hence more enemies can be slowed down during encounters. Parrying is a crucial element of combat. So if you are used to parrying the amulet is perfect for you.
