- The game has measured up to become the best-selling title in the Armored Core franchise.
- A new update for the mecha shooter has brought an array of new fixes and adjustments.
FromSoftware has pushed out Regulation Update 1.04.1 for Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, and this one’s a pretty beefy one for players across different platforms. For starters, it improves upon multiple weapons in the game, including the likes of the Spread Bazooka “SB-033M Morley” and Stun Bomb Launcher “WS-1200 THERAPIST,” among others.
Furthermore, there are changes on the side of Frame Parts as well—equipment that your Armored Core, which is the weaponized battle machine that officers in the game commandeer, use to gear itself up. Multiple entries have been tweaked thanks to update 1.04.1, such as the “AR-012 MELANDER C3” arms that now boast decreased weight and better firearm specialization.

It bears mentioning that you will have to download the latest update on your relevant platform to be able to play Armored Core 6 online. Without it, you have to resort to the campaign in a single-player manner, meaning that no online features will be usable in that particular case. FromSoft says that after installing the patch, players should see App Ver. 40 and Regulation Ver. 1.04.1 on the game’s Title Screen.
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is the resurgence that this mecha shooter franchise truly deserved, being the best-selling game in the entire series. It was recently unveiled that the title has been a major success in Japan, rolling over 700,000 units in the region alone. Taking the latter into account, FromSoftware expects its sales to grow even further in Japan going forward.
The third-person shooter traces its release back to August 25, 2023, making landfall on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. In eXputer’s review, Huzaifah rated the game 4.5/5, calling it the greatest mech game of all time.
