The list of nominees was huge this year, making the competition that much tougher and interesting to watch. Hi-Fi Rush swiped the Best Audio award, while Tears of the Kingdom earned the Best Technology and Best Innovation awards. Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 also stood out among many other competitors and acquired the Best Visual Art award. Unfortunately, Final Fantasy 16 does not appear to have won any awards.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Outshined Many AAA Releases Last Year
Striding smoothly into 2024, Larian Studios’ magnum opus has continued to overshadow notable releases. The entry has left an indelible mark on the gaming industry for featuring some of the best RPG mechanics; no wonder the game has now sold over 10 million copies. It is also highly popular on Steam Deck, recently dominating the 100 most-played games charts for the last 12 months straight.
