Baldur’s Gate 3: All Ritual Spells [Complete List]

Explore Ritual Spells in Baldur’s Gate 3: unique, non-slot consuming abilities for Wizards, Clerics, and more, enhancing gameplay dynamics.

Ritual Spells in Baldur’s Gate 3 are unique, reusable spells that don’t require a spell slot and are available to select classes outside of combat. Resembling cantrips, these spells offer various abilities, from reading minds to altering appearances. This guide delves into the list of available Ritual Spells and the means to obtain them.

Key Takeaways
  • Ritual Spells in Baldur’s Gate 3 don’t consume spell slots, and they function outside of combat.
  • These spells can be used repeatedly, similar to cantrips.
  • The Ritual Spells in BG3 remain active until the player’s next long rest, with some exceptions.
  • Ritual Spells can be chosen by Wizards, Clerics, Sorcerers, Druids, and Bards during level-ups.
  • Any class can access them via the Ritual Caster feat.
  • The Ritual Caster feat requires either an INT or WIS greater than 13 and is available at the fourth level.
  • Opting for the Ritual Caster feat grants only two Ritual Spells.

Ritual Spells are those spells in BG3 that do not consume any spell slot when cast. But only a few selected classes can unlock them at a certain level and only function outside combat. They resemble cantrips quite a bit because they can be used repeatedly, unlike regular spells.

It is a first-level spell in BG3 from the Transmutation school that increases a creature’s jumping range by three times. This spell is effective for ten turns.

4. Feather Fall

You and the other members of your party will have immunity to falling damage after casting the Feather Fall Ritual Spell. This spell also has a 10-turn duration.

5. Find Familiar

By using the Find Familiar Ritual Spell in Baldur’s Gate 3, you can summon a Familiar – a fey spirit that may take on the appearance of any animal you choose.

From my experience, you can pick one of eight different types of familiars from the level 1 spell to use in combat. Find Familiar will last as long as you eliminate them. If they pass away, all you have to do is take a short rest to resurrect them.

6. Longstrider

Longstrider Ritual Spell in BG3 can be used to touch a creature, which will speed up its movement by 3 meters until a long rest. The spell will continue until you follow a long rest.

7. Silence

You will be surrounded by a silent sphere thanks to the Silence Ritual Spell in Baldur’s Gate 3. The entire population of this dome will be silenced and protected from thunder damage. It is also possible for targets to turn hostile. The Silence spell is effective for 100 turns.

8. Speak With Animals

9. Speak With Dead

This Ritual Spell will resurrect an undead corpse that still has a mouth, and it will respond to five of your questions. You can use this spell until you take a long rest.

I discovered that these spells can be selected during level-ups by the Wizard, Cleric, Sorcerer, Druid, and Bard or any class can obtain the Ritual Caster feat to gain them as well.

Ritual Caster Feat Requirements

I found out that fulfilling these two requirements will help you get the Ritual Caster feat which will further enable you to cast Ritual Spells:

Abilities
Class Feats in Baldur’s Gate 3 [Image Credits: eXputer]
  • INT (Intelligence) or WIS (Wisdom) greater than 13.
  • This feat is available to any class at the fourth level (provided they meet the prerequisites listed above)

Opting for the Ritual Caster feat will help you gain only two Ritual Spells. I advise you to decide carefully because there is no way to change your mind without agreeing to the character’s specifications entirely.

In Baldur’s Gate 3, select Ritual Spells wisely; long strider, disguise self, and speaking with animals offer prolonged benefits until a long rest. Early acquisition of these Ritual Spells, like long strider, provides distinct tactical advantages during gameplay. Mastering Ritual Spells enhances characters with reusable abilities such as speaking to animals, disguising oneself, or summoning familiars. A comprehensive understanding of each spell and the Ritual Caster feat requirements is in my opinion crucial for strategically enhancing characters.
