A new Beyond Good and Evil title is finally slated to drop after keeping fans on the edge for many years, but there is a huge catch. The upcoming title is not the prequel we have been waiting for. It is a remastered edition of the first game that randomly popped up on the face of the web to everyone’s surprise. The edition is related to the 20th anniversary and likely wants to celebrate the event with an enhanced version.

The new version has been rated E10+ and is slated to come out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. However, the US Entertainment Software Ratings Board has not listed an Xbox One version.

This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of a reporter accompanied by a pig-like companion investigating a conspiracy on the planet of Hillys. From a third-person perspective, players explore fantasy locations, take photos of evidence, solve puzzles, and fight robot and alien enemies,” reads the game description.
Like the original Beyond Good and Evil, the new edition will likely retain all the relished mechanics with a new coating of enhanced graphics and remarkable improvements. The latest edition will also serve as a gateway for newcomers to the series to give the game a shot ahead of the prequel’s eventual release.
The original Beyond Good and Evil was released in 2003, wreaking havoc across the gaming industry for its revolutionary gameplay. Since then, we saw the launch of an HD version in 2011, and now another remastered edition is on the way. While details around the new edition are quite hazy due to its sudden arrival, we may hear official details from Ubisoft in the near future as the series’ 20th-anniversary approaches on November 11.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 has had a hard time since its initial reveal 14 years ago; the creative director of the game, Emile Morel, passed away a month ago. External playtesting last year also suggested that the title needs a few good years more in development before it is ready to be released.
