Dragon’s Dogma 2 has been in the brewer for over a decade, but we still lack all the details about it. Capcom has kept most of them behind the curtain. It has led to a plethora of speculations to prosper in the game community. However, a new rumor suggests that the upcoming RPG is only going to support up to 30 FPS for all consoles. The tidbit was shared by PC_Focus on Twitter, a news page known for bringing notable scoops to light.

The piece of info reportedly comes from a “Japanese insider,” but exact details are still up in the air. Additionally, the rumor also has some value because Dragon’s Dogma 2 is not that far from launch. We are left in the dark, which possibly implies that the rumor is more than a nothing burger. Nevertheless, it has been affirmed —as per the IGN preview— that the sequel features a single save slot, with auto and manual sharing the same one.
Fans of the entry are also concerned because Capcom has been overly quiet about the issue. The company has yet to reveal console frame rates for Dragon’s Dogma 2 as the release draws nigh. But, we advise taking the hearsay with a pinch of salt. The Twitter page has not shared the name of the Japanese insider who began the rumor. Although, PC Focus is generally trusted in the gaming scene for bringing credible scoops to light.

The devs have been quite enthusiastic about the upcoming RPG despite the seemingly grim picture painted by the rumor. The director once iterated that he wanted to work on the sequel right after the prequel came out. However, he also added in the same interview that the devs came up with the funniest ideas when sleep-deprived during night hours. The remark suggests that some sort of crunch culture was followed by the studio.
After a domineering predecessor, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is planning to launch on March 22, 2024, for PC and consoles, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X.
