You Can Now Get The First Dragon’s Dogma For Less Than $5 Before The Sequel Arrives

All thanks to the massive Capcom Publisher Sale on Steam.

Story Highlights

  • Dragon’s Dogma is Capcom’s flagship JRPG franchise that has a new iteration coming out later this month.
  • Before that game’s global release, the developer reduced the price of the first Dragon’s Dogma.
  • You can now get it for about $4.79 on Steam thanks to the publisher-wide sale on Steam.

Before the general public can get its hands on Dragon’s Dogma 2—Capcom’s extremely anticipated JPRG for this year—why not have a go at its predecessor to see how far gaming has come? The first Dragon’s Dogma, which by the way was released back in 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 before receiving a then-next-gen port, has been discounted by a massive 84% on Steam. Pretty sweet.

Despite coming out more than a decade ago, I still consider Dragon’s Dogma to offer a fairly fun time to all those who sit down to embrace it. The game’s easily considered “one of the best action RPGs of all time” and for good reason—it’s got genuinely great combat, an interesting mix of options for builds and classes, and fantastic world design just as well.

The World’s Got Its Eyes On Dragon’s Dogma 2 Right Now

So it definitely goes without saying that a mountain of expectations and hopes are tied to the sequel, Dragon’s Dogma 2, which is coming later in March. Though the director Hideaki Itsuno wanted to make this next installment in the franchise directly after the launch of the first game, but hefty resource requirements barred him from doing so, the decade-long wait could very well be worth it from what I’ve seen of the title up until now.

In other news, Dragon’s Dogma 2’s file size is somewhere around 70 GB, at least for the Xbox Series X|S. In an era where 100 GB+ file sizes are gradually becoming the norm, this doesn’t seem too bad, but because of day-one patches, and subsequent content updates, one can expect the size to trek near to the century soon enough.
