Capcom has unveiled the next vocation for Dragon’s Dogma 2—The Archer. In a minute-long video preview by IGN, The Archer shows off its lightning-fast skills with the bow, efficiently dispatching foes at both close and long range. Combined with the shooting gameplay, it’s also capable of engaging in melee combat with what appears to be an impact kick move.
Furthermore, the latest class in the game can augment its arrows with certain aspects or elements. As seen in the showcase, some effects have special properties such as stunning the enemy and knocking them down. Additionally, The Archer also has a form of an ultimate attack which you can see towards the end of the preview.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is one of the year’s most anticipated games, being the sequel to a title that launched over a decade ago. Hideaki Itsuno has previously expressed that he wanted to make the second entry right after the prequel’s launch but some factors prevented him from doing so.

The director took to X (formerly known as Twitter) yesterday, revealing that the game will feature uncapped framerates at launch. While having that on release is impressive, the tweet gave different meanings as the original sentence contained the term “variable” instead. Previous rumors have implied that the sequel will only support up to 30 FPS on consoles which may slowly be turning into reality.
Capcom‘s latest project launches on March 22, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. The company has been marketing the game well, revealing two more Vocations earlier this week. Bold claims such as fast travel being for bland games and impressive showcases have raised the hype for this fantasy JRPG.
