Data Mine Potentially Reveals Dying Light 2 Story DLC

This data-mined DLC is called "Opera" and is gladiator-themed.

Zombie outbreaks have been a huge part of the gaming medium for a long time now. From the extremely popular Resident Evil games to the zombie mode in Call of Duty, the undead always finds a way into our gaming platforms. One of the best recent depictions of zombies is the Dying Light series.

The first game in the franchise came out in 2013 and was a huge hit among players and critics alike. It has sold nearly 20 million copies to date becoming a huge commercial success too. Seeing this, a sequel to Dying Light was always going to release and it finally launched this year.

Dying Light 2 was also a sales success for the developer behind the game, Techland. Even though it had a poor critical reception, the game sold 5 million copies in a month. So, players have been waiting for more content from this beloved game and that might finally be coming.

A Dying Light 2 story DLC by the name of “Opera” might be coming, according to a recent data mine. Bub, a channel on YouTube, data-mined this new DLC from the patch v1.4.0 of the game, which came out on 14 June. Lots of details about this potential DLC have been found through the data mine.

According to the data miner, this DLC will be gladiator-themed and take place in an opera house. Hence, you are going to play this Dying Light 2 DLC around Opera Astrid and its surroundings. Our main character, Aiden, goes to this large battle arena to become a gladiator, as you can see from the render.

So basically, this DLC is the Gladiator (2000) movie and the potential characters emphasize that. Players have to face Astrid, the leader of the opera house, and his left hand, Skullface, who is the strongest gladiator. We do have a friend in Ciro who will play a role similar to Hakon in Dying Light 2.

Some data-mined screenplay depicts a scene where we fight Skullface and he beats us badly. The Dying Light 2 DLC is story-driven and features 2000 pieces of dialogue. It has 2 different endings and will feature typical zombie slashing and parkour.

So, it will stay true to the original game while adding a gladiator-style twist to it. You need to complete challenges around the arena to gain rank and obtain better weapons. Parkour and combat will be a big part of these trials, just like the main story of Dying Light 2.

We see a lot of the areas in the video and the renders are pretty cool. The DLC will have warriors’ quarters, an entrance hall and vestibule, a basement, and a prison crawling with infected. Hence, the DLC will have all the horrifying elements of Dying Light 2 in it. However, all of this is just speculation right now and we have no idea how true this is.
