In a recent announcement celebrating 20 million units sold for Elden Ring, Bandai Namco dropped a vague hint for a future Elden Ring DLC.
Bandai Namco stated that they will “continue to develop various ways for fans to enjoy the world of Elden Ring in the future.”
The full statement from Bandai Namco reads,
Combining the development capabilities of FromSoftware and the marketing power of Bandai Namco Entertainment’s overseas network, this title has been supported by fans since its release on February 25, 2022, and has
shipped more than 20 million units worldwide to date.
It has also received various awards, including ‘Game of the Year’ at ‘The Game Awards 2022.’ The companies would like to thank everyone who has played this game from the bottom of their hearts and will continue to develop various ways for the fans to enjoy the world of ‘ELDEN RING’ in the future.”
Since last year, there have been countless speculations regarding a possible expansion pack for Elden Ring similar to other FromSoftware games. Only a few months back, the game also got a content update adding dedicated PvP colosseums to the game to duke it out with other players.
As far as DLCs go, the studio has had a notable track record for producing major DLCs for all of the Souls games as well as Bloodborne, with Sekiro being the rare exception. Keeping in mind that the DLCs usually contain the best and most exciting content in these games and it’s no wonder fans are so excited.
Elden Ring itself dropped last year on February 25 and became an instant hit overnight. The game received universal acclaim over its unique approach to open-world exploration, an enchanting setting in the form of The Lands Between as well as its brutal roster of bosses such as Malenia, Blade of Miquella, and Starscourge Radahn.
As of right now, the studio is hard at work on their latest game, Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon which is set to release sometime this year for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and Steam.
