Forza Horizon 5 is set in the enthralling panorama of New Mexico, leaving players in awe with exciting races throughout its open-world landscapes. The game has been a major success ever since its launch, gaining a slew of achievements. Playground Games’ venture now seems to have hit yet another massive milestone worth noting.

As shared by a notable Xbox-focused account and insider on Twitter, Klobrille, Forza Horizon 5 now seemingly boasts over 28 million players ever since its release. In other words, the total player base has increased by tens of millions in the last two years. It clearly stands out as one of the most popular releases of Xbox Game Studios.

The news stems from the Forza Horizon 5’s Hall of Fame leaderboards, which list out the users with the most points. The updated list has brought us glad tidings, as it achieved the massive milestone in a short time. The title has emerged to be one of the most notable IPs for the Xbox brand in terms of user engagement and activity.

The chronicles of Forza Horizon 5 had a great beginning, as the entry boasted nearly one million players in just a few days after release. It was not long before those numbers would multiply into millions upon millions of players racing through the living and breathing world of New Mexico.

For instance, the player base has expanded vastly since the January of last year, with it gaining 15 million players in just two months after its eventful arrival on the Xbox One, next-gen Series family, and PC. Forza Horizon 5’s player base has since nearly doubled to climb over 28,001,400 players in about thirteen months.

Forza Horizon 5’s first expansion Hot Wheels has also proven to be highly popular in the series. It invited a huge inpour of new players seeking to experience the game for the first time. The Hot Wheels expansion was able to surpass over one million players soon after its anticipated arrival, for instance.

That is not all; the game is seemingly getting a new expansion, as recently announced by the Playground Games’ Twitter handle. Only a teaser was hinted at in the new post, leaving a lot of room for speculation regarding what theme the new expansion will adopt. The new expansion will be announced on Thursday this week.

However, it is certainly confirmed that Forza Horizon 5 will receive more content despite some recent events.  Some prominent Forza Horizon 5 developers called it quits at Playground Games recently to create a new AAA studio dubbed Maverick Games.

It seems that the resignations have not yet affected the game in any negative way, with it continuing to rise in player count and quality with each passing day. We can expect even more racers to join the Forza Horizon 5 community with the new expansion.

The open-world racer’s excellent quality is reflected by its success and a large player base with the game featuring a slew of diverse biomes, like dense jungles, towns designed for fun street racing, a volcanic caldera, a lush living desert, and more. The immersive visuals combined with realistic racing make for an indelible venture.
