Granblue Fantasy: Relink Has Reached 100,000 Concurrent Players On Steam

Granblue Fantasy: Relink has hit the ground running and surpassed a massive 100,000 concurrent players on Steam, becoming one of the most-played JRPG titles on the platform. The action RPG has already become the third most-played JRPG in Steam history with an all-time peak of 103,248, leaving only Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Rise ahead of the Cygames title in the overall ranking.

The successor to 2014’s Granblue Fantasy, Granblue Fantasy: Relink came out to generally favorable reviews at the start of this month. Metacritic rated the game 81 on PC and the online title was a massive hit on PlayStation even before release. Over 600,000 players downloaded the game’s demo on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in just a few weeks following its launch on January 11, 2024.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is set in the same realm as the original title and also features characters from the 2014 game. However, the JRPG is set in a completely different location than Granblue Fantasy, differentiating the two games. Tetsuya Fukuhara, the director of the 2014 RPG, returned as the director for Relink with Platinum Games, who were originally co-developing the title before dropping out in 2019.

As revealed earlier, Granblue Fantasy: Relink features four-player co-op gameplay where your party members can be AI or other users. According to the developers, each character in the JRPG will offer a different kind of experience and the combat will be fluid, open-ended, and tough. With floating islands, a sweet story, and engaging gameplay the Gacha title certainly has a lot to offer.
