Helldivers 2 is the talk of the town these days as the third-person shooter reared its head a little over a week ago from today. The game’s official roadmap has been in the works for a while now, but apparently, there’s been a drastic change of plans over at Arrowhead’s HQ. The CEO of the developer studio Johan Pilestedt has confirmed that the current roadmap plan has been scrapped because it’s “very out of date in comparison to what we now want to do.”
The team is working on it. Our old roadmap is very out of date in comparison to what we now want to do. #more

In all fairness, this doesn’t necessarily mean an expansion in scale. For all we know, the new changes could very well be a change in overall direction as well. That said, the fact that Arrowhead is constantly monitoring player feedback and is trying to be hyperactive in terms of appealing to the game’s player base does paint a good future for what is otherwise an exceptionally fun game.
On a side note, Johan has been giving away a ton of other information related to Helldivers 2 on his X handle. The Arrowhead CEO recently spoke up about the shooter’s potential PvP mode, shutting down prospects and confirming that it’ll never get one. The reason cited is an attempt to reduce “toxic elements” in the community.Related Content to Check Out:
