Spider-Man 2’s Out-Of-Bounds Glitch Reveals What Happens To Rhino

Aleksi's fate turned him into wall-hanging decor.

Story Highlights

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 brings forth an amazing campaign with multiple characters involved.
  • Many figures from past Marvel’s Spider-Man games have returned, but not Rhino.
  • In an out-of-bounds glitch, a player has discovered that Rhino might have been killed by Kraven.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has finally launched, coming off as a direct sequel to the first Marvel’s Spider-Man that launched in 2018. The sequel features an array of returning characters, both from the prequel and the Miles Morales campaign expansion, but there’s one brute in particular that wasn’t shown off with a proper appearance, not up until now at least.

Thanks to the following YouTube video, it seems that there is a way to glitch Spider-Man out of the map in the game, and travel to a certain area to find what appears to be trophies collected by Kraven the Hunter—an antagonist in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. One of the trophies is clearly a depiction of Rhino, placed on the wall like a decor piece. This could mean that Kraven might have canonically finished off Aleksei in the Spider-Man universe.

For those not in the know, Rhino, otherwise called Aleksi by Spider-Man, was one of the main antagonists of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and a side supervillain in the previous base game. The sequel casts a lens on Scorpion, Electro, Vulture, Mr. Negative, and others descriptively, but leaves out Rhino to fan speculation. Now, however, we might have a brief idea of what became of the one-horned sprinter.

Explaining the situation, the creator of the video explained in a post on Reddit that the glitch originates from the same point as it does in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and as they tried pulling it off, it worked. The OP then started exploring NYC from beneath the ground, eventually stumbling upon a strange structure that they somehow got closer to using the in-game Photo Mode. Clkzins, the founder of the bug, says,

I started exploring the underground world and found a strange structure that at first i couldn’t get in but after a while I found a way in and went forward until a pipe with a invisible wall, using the photo mode and the little hole underneath the pipe. I got the camera to bypass the invisible wall and entered a secret room that never appeared anywhere in the game with a throne supposedly from Kraven and trophies of the heads of the villains that were killed, and even a Rhino head.”

This is certainly something that fans would want to speculate to kingdom come to, guessing Rhino’s standing in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe now, following the vicious hunts of Kraven the Hunter. We don’t want to invade any spoiler territories from here on out, so it’s best that you play through the game to find out what happens to the villains that return from the previous games.
