Rumor: Accidental Giveaway Suggests Overwatch Might Become Free To Play On PC

Overwatch League has now removed the post!

Overwatch League has decided to give away free digital copies of Overwatch PC. There isn’t any particular announcement on Overwatch League social media channels. However, If you visit their website, and go to get overwatch tab. You will find this beautiful form waiting to be filled.

Overwatch Giveaway

There are a few things to note. Firstly, this offer is for PC users only. Secondly, the form does not allow you to change countries and ultimately It restricts other country players. Users on Twitter claim all they had to do was enter any US Zip Code and they have gotten the code.

Submit your information below to get a digital copy of Overwatch for PC, plus 200 Overwatch League tokens.

Just fill in your email, name, zip, and country. Afterward, you will receive the code, that can be redeemed at Battle.net. Further, only one 1 code per battle.net account is allowed.

I’ve zero ideas what’s going on, but looking at the date, It pretty much confirms Overwatch is going free to play. Overwatch League might be given access to exclusive giveaway so they can grow their audience. I just checked the Overwatch Price for PC, and It remains the same, $19.99 Standard Edition & $39.99 Legendary Edition.

You have got loads of time to avail of this offer.

“Entries must be submitted by 1/15/2021 and codes must be redeemed by 1/31/2021.”

Update: Overwatch League has shut down the page, and you cannot get the game free anymore. I’m very positive that this was a blunder, or maybe some sort of planned slip that had something to do with Overwatch becoming free to play. There have been a lot of free to play overwatch leaks lately, I guess this is the closest we have gotten. One of my friends participated In the giveaway and got this email a few minutes ago.
