Story Highlights
- IGN accidentally uploaded a B-roll clip of Persona 3 Reload that showcases a few locations of the Gekkoukan High School. The video was later removed.
- Persona 3 Reload was rumored for a long time until certain leaks surfaced online earlier this year. The official trailer was also leaked by Atlus ahead of the Xbox Showcase.
- It’s expected that Atlus will release the remake of Persona 3 on platforms other than Xbox and PC as this follows a similar pattern to last year’s announcement.
In a not-so-surprising turn of events, more footage for Persona 3 Reload was accidentally uploaded by IGN. The video was removed shortly after but it didn’t take long for it to start making rounds. The new footage showcases several locations within the Gekkoukan High School along with Paulownia Mall. This clip seems to serve as a companion to IGN’s interview with the producer and chief director of Persona 3 Reload.
Atlus has been rather unusual in how it handles its projects. Several of its games are discovered due to domain registrations and Persona 3 Reload is no exception. It was formally announced at this year’s fantastic Xbox Showcase. However, the trailer itself was leaked by Atlus West’s official Instagram account prior to the presentation.

Persona 3 Reload is on a streak right now with all these accidental leaks. The project was rumored ever since it won the poll in an Atlus survey a while back. These rumors picked up steam when a short clip surfaced online earlier this year along with the discovery of a registered domain. This was topped by the announcement trailer being leaked a day before the actual event.
Persona 3 is known for putting the series on the map outside of Japan and letting it branch out into its own thing. Spawning as a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei, Persona now stands on its own as one of the more iconic JRPG series owing to its great stories, compelling gameplay mechanics, and aesthetic. The third entry is also rather divisive due to P3FES but is also appreciated for introducing “FeMC” in the portable version.
The upcoming remake will not include any of the content from FES and Portable according to Atlus. However, seeing its DLC practices over the years, especially with Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne’s HD remaster and Soul Hackers 2, it would be safe to assume that some kind of bonus content will be coming to Persona 3 Reload. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Atlus has scheduled Persona 3 Reload for release in Early 2024 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. It’s also expected to arrive on other platforms.
