Recent Pokemon X And Y Re-Trademarks Spark Revival Rumors

The Pokemon Company has re-registered the trademark for Pokemon X and Y logos in Japan.

The Pokemon Company, which is owned by Game Freak, Nintendo, and Creatures Inc, has allegedly re-registered the trademarks for Pokemon X and Y logos in Japan.

Pokemon X and Y were released on October 12, 2013, for Nintendo 3DS. After almost a decade, it appears that Game Freak might have a few new plans for the two games.

Major Takeaways:

  • The Pokemon Company allegedly renews trademarks for Pokemon X and Y logos.
  • There are no official announcements yet.
  • It is likely that we’ll get more information on National Pokemon Day on February 27, 2023.

A Twitter user, PokeXperto, revealed on the social media platform that the trademarks for Pokemon X and Y logos have been renewed.

Pokemon X and Y kicked off the sixth generation of Pokemon. The games were set in the Kalos region. This is even more intriguing because Kalos is the closest region to the Paldea region introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The Paldea and Kalos region share their borders, which opens up several possibilities for an upcoming DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

It is also possible that the renewal of Pokemon X and Y logos trademarks hints towards a generation six remake. The most recent remakes that we’ve received from Game Freak were for the 4th Generation: Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl for the Nintendo Switch in November 2021.

Game Freak can also introduce an entirely new game for the Kalos region instead of a remake. The possibilities are endless, but it is important to remember that all of these are just rumors at this point.

As of now, there haven’t been any official announcements from Game Freak or the other owners of The Pokemon Company. It is likely that we’ll receive an official statement on National Pokemon Day, which also marks the 27th anniversary of the franchise on February 27.

However, the trademark bot on Twitter has also posted about the renewal of Pokemon X and Y logo trademarks.
