Former God of War Ragnarok Writer Working On Bandai Namco’s “Unannounced Original IP”

According to an employee's LinkedIn profile, the IP has been in development for at least a year.

Bandai Namco, a Japan-based game publishing company known for publishing video game franchises like Tekken, Dark Souls, Pacman, and Gundam, is working on an unannounced IP. That is according to the LinkedIn profile of one of the writers working for the company.

MAJOR TAKEAWAYS

  • According to the LinkedIn profile of Aly Samson, a writer working for Bandai Namco, the publishing company has had an unannounced IP in development since 2021.
  • Aly Samson has previously worked on famous titles like God of War(2018) and God of Ragnarok during her time at PlayStation Studio and its subsidiary, Santa Monica Studio.
  • No other info regarding the IP is available at this time. And Bandai Namco has not made any mention of it either.

Aly Samson, the writer in question, is a graduate of the University of San Diego where she got her BA in “English with a Creative Writing Emphasis in Nonfiction/Fiction.”

She is working as an editor and a writer for an unannounced Bandai Namco IP. According to her profile description, she started her work on the said IP in December 2021.

She “writes game scripts” for the IP and also edits “grammatical” and “spelling” errors. She also makes sure that the character’s tone and voice are consistent with each other during dialogs and quests.

Her profile description for the Bandai Namco job further reads,

I direct VO recording sessions working directly with developers, actors, and recording studio staff to provide additional context and direction when needed. I also offer consultation for various projects through the lens of authentic representation and accessibility.”

Previously, she has also worked on other Bandai Namco projects as well. Those include two of My Hero Academia games, My Hero’s One Justice 2 and My Hero Ultra Rumble. But perhaps her most important and prized work as a writer was before she was hired by her current employer.

From 2018 to the end of 2021, she was an employee at PlayStation studio and its subsidiary, Santa Monica Studio. There she worked in different positions on the studio’s most famous title, the God of War.

She was also a Game Test Analyst for God of War and Spider-Man (PlayStation 4).

No other info regarding the unannounced IP is available. And Bandai Namco has made no mention of it either. So it’s unclear about the genre or which type of game Aly Samson is working on. But looking at her CV, we can expect it to be as immersive and amazing as God of War.
