Valve Will Give Away A Steam Deck Every Minute At The Game Awards

The parent company of Steam will give away hundreds of 512 GB Steam Decks during the stream.

As the year draws to a close, the gaming world looks forward to gaming’s Oscars, The Game Awards. It’s a huge live event that awards the best video games of the year and allows publishers to reveal new projects. But Valve is beating everyone this year in the spectacle as it is giving away a 512 GB Steam Deck every minute of The Game Awards.

Everyone watching the event on Valve’s popular Steam website will enter a lucky draw. The lucky few will obtain a Steam Deck, with chances being very high due to the length of the show.

Major Takeaways:

  • Valve is giving away a Steam Deck every minute during The Game Awards.
  • Everyone watching the stream on the Steam Page will enter the draw, but only people from the US, UK, EU, and Canada can register.
  • Valve will give away at least 210 Steam Decks if the ceremony lasts the same time as last year’s.

Valve announced this giveaway on the Steam Store with a chance to register for the lucky draw. Everyone registering will be eligible to win one of the several hundred Steam Decks from Valve. However, people from every region will not be able to participate in this draw.

In the “How The Giveaway Will Work” section of the page, Steam lists the few regions eligible for the draw. Only people from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the European Union will be able to register for the draw. So, if you are from Asia or anywhere else, you won’t be able to sign up.

Valve has also set some other conditions for players in these regions. Everyone participating must have made a purchase on Steam between November 14, 2021, and November 14, 2022. This is because it allows Valve to verify the country of the user participating in the draw.

Accounts of everyone registering should also be in “Good Standing“. This means that there should be no active bans or locks on the user’s account and it should not be a limited one. If you fulfill all of these requirements, you can register for the draw and win a Valve Steam Deck.

You also have to watch The Game Awards stream live on the Steam page to be eligible for the draw. Names will be randomly selected during every minute of this stream and be given a Steam Deck. Valve has also said in the rules that no employees of the company or their family members are eligible.

The winner of each Steam Deck will be announced in the chats of the live stream by Valve. Everyone participating will also get an exclusive Steam Pal digital sticker animation for free. Hence even if you don’t win, registering for this is not going to be in vain.

The Game Awards will air on December 8th this year on Steams web page. If last year’s ceremony is anything to go by, Valve is going to give away dozens of Steam Decks. Game Awards 2021 lasted for 3 hours and 30 minutes, which totals up to 210 minutes in total.

So, if the 2022 Game Awards ceremony lasts a similar time, Valve will give away at least 210 Steam Decks. That is an insane number for a single giveaway and everyone will certainly have a huge chance of winning. We hope that all of our readers are lucky enough to win a Steam Deck.
