Rumor: PlayStation’s Next Port To PC Is An Absolute Heavy-Hitter

God of War Ragnarok is on the table folks.

Story Highlights

  • Continuing its mission to get more games on PC, Sony could be plotting to port another title soon.
  • The rumored game this time around is the mega-hit God of War Ragnarok, a super prominent title.
  • Ragnarok was released in November 2022, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Reliable video game leaker billbil-kun has reason to believe that Sony is next plotting to port God of War Ragnarok to PC, the 2022-released super-hit by Santa Monica Studios, and the latest rendition in the God of War franchise. The individual in question has a fairly spot-on track record, predicting Far Cry 6’s Game Pass landing and Horizon Forbidden West’s PC port in the past accurately.

Not that this is something totally out of the blue — considering Sony’s strategy with PlayStation exclusives now — but an added reassurance is always something nice, especially for a game of this stature.

The full report over at Dealabs claims that the announcement of the port is “imminent” and likely to make headlines in May, although the actual release of the game on PC is “currently unknown.” It’s incredible how PC is slowly but surely becoming the ultimate powerhouse in gaming, now that first-party publisher titles from both Xbox and PlayStation eventually make their way to the platform sooner or later, with the former being as transparent on PC as it is on consoles.

This whole “exclusive games” discourse does leave out Nintendo though. That one company has never signed up for sharing its particular titles, and I’m not sure it should either. Many would agree that Nintendo games are perfectly curated for Nintendo hardware only; having owned the Switch, I resonate with the thought.

God Of War Ragnarok Is A Treat For PC Players

My love for the God of War series has only seen growth over the course of the last decade or so, thanks to Santa Monica Studios pouring its heart and soul into the IP. Selling more than 15 million units to date, God of War Ragnarok features the culmination of Kratos’ Norse saga while offering the perfect epilogue to the legacy of the character, though it’s unlikely that the series has ended here.

eXputer rated the title 4.5/5.0 in its review, calling it “exceptional in almost every single way.” Its free DLC expansion in the name of Valhalla wasn’t held back from receiving high-class praise either, earning a 5/5 in our review, and coming across as “a love letter to all the old fans of this incredible series.”
