Hypercharge: Unboxed, The Toy Story Shooter We’ve All Wanted On Xbox

Is this what Buzz Lightyear was doing?

Hypercharge: Unboxed was originally released in 2020 with extremely positive reviews; play as an action figure defending your Hypercore from other toys or in online play. This game clearly takes aspects from Toy Story and other tower defence titles.

The game also takes a nostalgic turn with its ideas and people calling it “if Toy Story was an fps.” Recently the company went full gear on development to give Xbox players the best possible experience as well. With only five developers working around the clock, we can expect an unrivalled experience.

The company also started asking players to sign up for newsletters. This is to grant the players knowledge of new updates and news immediately, and the players were happy about this, as more than 20,000 players signed up. Even the developers were surprised by the support that was reaching them.

The success of these updates and general connectivity with the players actually helped Hypercharge: Unboxed. The concurrent players on Steam have started growing exponentially in the last week. It’s speculated that, by the end of the month, it should rattle Steam charts greatly.

Though the game may seem to be derived from Toy Story, the developers actually took most of the inspiration from the de_rats map in Counter-Strike 1.6. The reason for this was the gameplay aspects and that they played the game as kids. Also, a mutual love for action figures between the team members made them take this certain approach.

While the amusing title does not focus on the story, the team decided to put work into polishing the game. Also, adding the co-op feature was the greatest decision that the company made. This is because this feature is what put it on the map in the first place.

Another thing that was an amazing addition was the split-screen feature. By adding split-screen, any player can play couch co-op with ease. Another great feature is being able to switch from first-person to third-person, bringing an abundant amount of flexibility to the overall experience.

Hypercharge: Unboxed is shaping up to be a great game. With so many options of flexibility in gameplay, this title is sure to go down as one of the simplest and most enjoyable games ever. Hypercharge: Unboxed currently has a %15 sale on Steam. If you want to check out the game or buy it for yourself, now is the best time to do so.
