Hyperkin Announces Xenon—An Xbox 360 Replica Controller For PC

Hyperkin has announced today that they are bringing back the classic Xbox 360 controller, called Xenon, for the current-gen Xbox consoles and PC. The announcement was made to commemorate the 17th anniversary of Xbox 360.

The company previously brought back the Duke, another classic controller from Xbox history.

Hyperkin has not announced an official release date for the licensed replica of the Xbox 360 controller. However, it is confirmed that Xenon will be available in four different colors: Black, pink, white, and red. It will be powered by a USB-C cable and will feature a 3.5mm headset jack.

Hyperkin Xenon will be compatible with Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC. The replicated version will include slight changes to the original to raise the compatibility with modern Xbox consoles. These changes will include Menu, Share, and View buttons instead of the Start and Back buttons.

The Duke, an older oversized Xbox controller, was also resurrected by Hyperkin in 2018. The replica of the Duke was well received by the public and was available in several variants.

Just like the upcoming Xenon, Hyperkin’s Duke is also compatible with all current-gen consoles and PC.

The original Xbox 360 controller was first unveiled at E3 in 2005. Almost 2 decades later, it is still one of the most iconic controllers of console gaming history.

Hyperkin’s replica will be called Xenon because it was also the codename of the CPU used in the Xbox 360 console.

It is unclear when this replica will be released since no release date was revealed by Hyperkin. However, it is expected to become available for purchase in 2023.
