Following the catastrophic release of The Last of Us Part 1 on PC earlier this year, Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy are continuing efforts to improve the game’s state with the launch of v1.1.1. According to the patch notes, the update aims to address various visual issues, user experience discrepancies, crash factors, and more. In addition, a few bugs related to the game’s Photo Mode have also been patched.

Crashes that would occur when restarting a Permadeath speedrun after dying and when rapidly switching through available skins were resolved. In addition to that, crashes that occurred during extended play sessions during cutscenes in certain areas were fixed as well. Camera-related problems that could occur when running the game at high framerates have also been ironed out.

Furthermore, patch v1.1.1 of The Last of Us Part 1 fixes the issues that prevented full selection of presets when using Gaze Direction along with arrow icons being uncontrollable when using a mouse to change the color of frames. Model Viewer errors where multiple models were being highlighted at once have also been patched with the release of this update.

Other miscellaneous problems with The Last of Us Part 1 such as missing rocks and rock wall textures, players being able to see outside the game world in some locations, quick turn animation discrepancies when zooming without a gun equipped, and reflections not appearing in vehicles’ rear-view mirrors when Real-Time Reflections are disabled have also been addressed.

Moreover. the “Loading percentage” user interface has also been updated to allow for even tracking of loading progress. Several in-game, menu, and text-to-speech translation errors that have persisted since the launch of the game have also been corrected. Along with those corrections, the bow’s UI overlapping issue has also been addressed.

The crash occurring in the DLC, if Ellie is wearing the Seattle Wear skin, has been rectified. Directional button controls for behind-the-scenes podcast navigation on Valve’s Steam Deck have been fixed. Lastly, checkerboard patterns that appear on the screen when using motion blur on AMD RX 580 and RX 590 series GPUs were resolved as well.

The Last of Us Part 1 is out now for the PlayStation 5 and PC.
