Gotham Knights has been rated in Singapore for the Nintendo Switch according to IMDA, a Singapore Government Agency website. Based on the contents of WB‘s live-service outing in Gotham City, the Singaporean authorities have assigned as advisory rating of 16, suitable for those at that age and above, citing the depiction of violence and crude vocabulary.
The IMDA has stated that advisory sixteen guidelines allow “realistic but not excessively graphic violence with depiction of blood.” While the rating has confirmed the platform on which Gotham Knights will eventually be released in the region, no release date or official statement has been provided.
Developed by QLOC and WB Montreal, the bat family hit the shelves last year to a rather disappointing reception. While there were several factors that contributed to how it was received, the main contributors were its lackluster visuals, restricted FPS, live-service nature, and the shadow of Arkham Knight being cast over its existence.
Gotham Knights ended up being a step back from everything that WB achieved and Rocksteady delivered with the Arkham saga. After waiting for almost a decade, fans of the series not only received a game set in a new universe where Batman had passed away but one that was also plagued with the demerits of live-service. Combined with a product that lacked polish, the game failed to receive the same traction as the Arkham entries.
