Sony could be working on a new Bloodborne movie behind the curtains. A rumor by the credible insider Daniel Richtman suggests that the company is preparing to bring the eldrich horrors to the cinemas in the future — yes, even before an official 60 FPS patch for the PlayStation 5 or the highly awaited Bloodborne 2. Daniel has shared the rough logline of the movie as evidence, inciting a huge reaction from the excited fans.

The summary of the film is quite barren and doesn’t provide any solid details besides a few names. There is no mention of a director on the logline yet, suggesting that Sony is still hunting to find a figure who can reimagine the eerie city of Yharnam. However, Sony Pictures has already joined forces with producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and writer Darren Lemke to bring Bloodborne into the movie scene.
Sony project based on the PlayStation game of the same name. Bloodborne follows the player’s character, a Hunter, through the decrepit Gothic, Victorian-era-inspired city of Yharnam, whose inhabitants are afflicted with a blood-borne disease which transforms the residents, called Yharnamites, into horrific beasts. Attempting to find the source of the plague, the player’s character unravels the city’s mysteries while fighting beasts and cosmic beings,” reads the logline.

Writer Darren Lemke is renowned for creating the story and writing for Shazam!, Shrek Forever After, The Parts You Lose, and more. On the other hand, the producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura has played a major role in delivering some of the chefs-d’oeuvre of the gaming movie industry. He has helmed projects like Dead Rising, DOOM, Metal Gear Solid, Just Cause, and the sort.
The PlayStation brand head, Hermen Hulst, has also previously shown interest in exploring more opportunities outside of gaming. But we implore taking the rampant rumors with a pinch of salt. Sony has not officially confirmed anything regarding the gossiped movie.
It has been dead silent regarding the title since its release. The fans are distraught to the point that a modder had to create an unofficial 60 FPS Bloodborne patch for a hacked PlayStation 5. However, there is some hope for a potential PC release since a dev was caught playing Bloodborne on PC using an internal build earlier this year. Perhaps the success of the movie could finally propel Sony to pursue the IP brimming with latent potential.
Bloodborne came out on 26 March 2015 on PlayStation 4 and has aged to be among the best action roleplaying entries over the decades. The title is laden with gothic horrors, memorable boss fights, excellent level design, and agile combat that leaves a satisfying aftertaste in the mouth.
