Story Highlights
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 does not have an in-built feature for altering the time of the day at will.
- A new exploit, however, allows you to switch to day or night, depending, but there’s a catch.
- It’s recommended to back up your save as you attempt the glitch.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been one of the best releases this year thus far, coming in with all sorts of fun-filled activities, and other ways to enjoy New York City, not to mention the exceptionally gratifying traversal of the title. That said, similar to its predecessor, it’s still not possible to change the time of the day at will, and players have to be at the mercy of the in-game missions for that to take place pre-decidedly.
However, one user has discovered a glitch that makes it possible to switch between day and night whenever it’s required, and the trick pertains to utilizing the vastly spread-out Mysterium locations across NYC. For those not in the know, Mysteriums in Spider-Man 2 are a type of side objective that Miles can take on, and each one has its own default time setting that can be utilized in this case.
You can change time of day in Spider-Man 2 (unoffically) by heading to Mysterium location, slowing down the via the shortcut settings, and using the map to replay and quit.

As pointed out by Ben but first discovered by HeySoriPark, the idea is to slow down your combat speed to 30% and approach the entrance of the Mysterium. As you do that, open your map and replay one of these activities that you’ve already gone through before. Once you boot into the side mission, abandon the challenge from the pause menu, and voila! The time of the day outside will be the same as the one inside the Mysterium activity.
Now, you can experiment with different variations of the Mysterium zones and find NYC’s time replicating it seamlessly. Just make sure that you do this on an alternate save, as attempting the trick can often break the game, leaving you with a corrupted save or something of the like. It’s surely not fun to mess around with such a risky exploit, so do tread with caution.

On a side note, this isn’t the only glitch that players have run into as of late, and you’ll be surprised that there’s a lot more where all of the above came from. You can swing around NYC as a younger Peter thanks to a recently discovered exploit, not to mention another bug that makes it possible for Venom to ride a bicycle, wobbling from one side to the other with his tongue out in a hilarious fashion.
